Wednesday– Mercury– Air…communication.
I’m going to write a letter today to someone that I haven’t seen or spoken to for a very long time. And if it’s someone whom, for whatever reason, I can’t send the letter to, then I will burn it in the flame of a yellow candle and scatter the ashes to the wind…knowing they will get the message.
Follow this link to read the letter.
The Earth, The Air, The Fire, The Water…gather here, at the crossroads of reality, between the world of the living and the world of the dead, where time does not exist, where the past and future are one.
Touch me now, with all my senses, including those that rise above the mundane, so that I may feel your presence, feel your power, feel the essence of what constitutes your being.
You are, I am.
Earth…you are the soft and glossy fur of an animal beneath my hand; you are the agonizing pain of birth; you are the solidity of the ground beneath my feet.
Air…you are my first breath and my last; you are the spark of my creativity; you are the mental connection I maintain in this life with those I love.
Fire…you are the passion that fuels my enthusiasm and resolve; you are my instinct for survival; you are what compels me to leave common sense behind and unleash the instincts of the animal within.
Water…you are my visions and my dreams; you allow me to see past the physical world to other realms and possibilities; you are my second sight, my empathy, my connection to spirits that walk the earth.
You are, I am.
Touch me now, touch me now to light me from within, that I may feel, that I may grow, that I may see, that I may know.

The four court cards for the Queens, found in the tarot deck, carries the energy of the four elements: Earth— the Queen of Pentacles, Air— the Queen of Swords, Fire— the Queen of Wands, and Water— the Queen of Cups. I’ve developed four magickal oils that carry the essence of each of these Queens, and I’m posting spells here to use in conjuntion with 1) the tarot card connected to each Queen, 2) the oil created for each Queen, and sometimes a candle for each Queen in the color correspondence to her element: Queen of Pentacles- green (Earth); Queen of Swords- yellow (Air); Queen of Wands- red (Fire); Queen of Cups- blue (Water)
The magick for the Queen of Pentacles will weigh heavy and is grounded to the energy of the elemental realm of Earth, as well as to the physical realm of manifestation, and it is manifestation that this Queen will bring to our spells.
To Manifest Your Desire
We’re talking about a physical manifestation of something that you want, whether it be money; a new house; a better car; or some other physical item you long to have. We’re also talking about manifestation of something you want, but something that is not made of molecules and atoms, whether it be a new job; success with an endeavor; a dream vacation; or something else that is very real, yet not an actual physical object.
Correspondences for Manifestation Spell:
Moon Phase: waxing to full
Colors: Earth/green; Jupiter/purple
Oil: Queen of Pentacles Oil
Herbs: Earth- (included in the oil);
Jupiter- cloves, sage, star anise
Stones: malachite, mystic topaz, peridot
1. an image of your desire,
or a written explanation of your desire
2. a green candle
3. a fireproof container
Gather all the necessary items together for this spell, including an image of what you’re going to manifest, or a piece of paper upon which you’ve described exactly what it is you’re going to manifest. It’s recommended that magick be cast within a sacred space, but this is not a written rule. If you’re not comfortable casting a circle, at least sprinkle a little salted water around your work area, or smudge the area with sage or an incense of your choice.
1. place the fireproof container in the center of your space or altar
2. dress the candle with the Queen of Pentacles oil & place it in the container
3. sprinkle the herbs for Jupiter around the candle in the container
4. place the stones on your altar, arranging them around the container
5. light the candle & your incense
6. hold the image or the paper in your hand; close your eyes and still your mind- ground & center; as you’re holding this object in your hands, envision it in your mind, envision it in your mind until it is as real as it would be if you were looking at it, envision it in your mind until it is as real as it would be if you were experiencing it.
7. open your eyes & immediately touch the paper to the candle flame; drop it into the fireproof container with the candle and allow everything to burn down.
8. once everything has cooled down, bury the candle wax and ashes from this spell in the earth upon your property
The magick for the Queen of Swords is often intangible, moving through the mediums of thought and communication. She is connected to the elemental realm of Air, and it’s her magick that touches us with a spark of creativity, mental fortitude, self-expression and communication.
Spells for Communication, Messages, & Ideas
1. Talk to Me
When communication between you and someone within your circle has either petered out for no apparent reason, or stopped abruptly due to disagreements and a falling out, it’s important to get that communication flowing as soon as possible to repair the relationship and reaffirm your bond. There’s a very easy way to do this:
Take a dab of Queen of Swords oil on the pointer finger of your dominant hand and anoint the bottom of a water glass, moving your finger in a clockwise circle- round and round and round she goes.
Fill this glass with a beverage of choice and serve it to the person you are trying to re-establish communication with. The flow of conversation usually begins before the glass is empty.
2. Magickal Messages
If there’s someone you wish to get a message to, there’s a magickal way to do this. When all other avenues have failed, either because communication is being deliberately blocked, or they are just not listening, write down exactly what it is you have been trying to tell them. Anoint this paper with Queen of Swords oil and tie it outdoors, somewhere where the wind will catch it, preferrably in a tree, but a fence-post or a porch rail will work too.
3. Ignite Your Muse
If you are involved in a creative venture and get stuck for ideas and inspiration, anoint a clear quartz crystal point with Queen of Swords oil, place it in a small pouch and sleep with it beneath your pillow. You will wake the next morning filled with inspiration in the form of dreams, ideas, and images.
The Queen of Wands, connected to the elemental realm of Fire, rules magick of fiery unbridled passion with intensitiy of purpose and a ruthless pursuit of justice. It is her magick that will add swiftness to your spells, giving them focus and accuracy, and the Queen of Wands oil can be added to any spell crafting for this purpose.
Spells for Passion & Justice
1. Light the Fire
…and this is exactly what you’re going to do, literally. You can do this several ways. You can either do it in a big way and light an outdoor bonfire, or a quaint and cozy fireplace fire, or you can even start a very small flame in your cast iron cauldron or some other small and very fireproof container. (Let me re-emphasize the words “very fireproof”.)
At least three pieces of the wood or sticks that you add to this fire will be anointed with Queen of Wands oil.
When you get your fire going sufficiently, write down on a piece of paper just exactly what aspect of your life needs more passion or energy, or exactly whom it is you wish to ignite passion with. Touch this paper to your lips, and throw it into the flames.
2. Sweet Justice
If you are confronted in life with a situation that wreaks of unfairness, predjudice, or underhandedness, make a mojo bag aligned with magickal energy to right a wrong, a mojo bag to bring justice.
To this bag add:
1. a stone of apache tear,
anointed with Queen of Wands oil
2. three thorns from a flowering bush
3. a cat’s claw, if you have it
4. a small slip of paper on which you’ve written
the name(s) of those you believe to be unfair
After all of these ingredients have been added to the mojo bag, spit in the bag and tie it shut. Keep the bag in a safe and secret spot.
Magick connected to the Queen of Cups will be the most elusive and illusionary of all. Connected to the elemental realm of Water, this Queen’s energy will rule your dreams and visions, throwing open the door to magickal realms, infinite possiblities, and emotions.
Spells for spirituality & intuition
1. Spirit Guide Speak
If you wish to connect with your Spirit Guide, if you wish to receive a message of wisdom, insight, spirituality and secret knowledge, you’re going to create a mojo bag that you will place beneath your pillow. Every night, for seven nights in a row, you will sleep with this bag beneath your pillow. Every morning, you will jot down in a small notebook any dreams, unusual thoughts, or visions that came to you on the previous night. On the morning of the eighth day, you will wake- and you will have the wisdom, inspiration, direction, or knowledge that you seek.
To create a mojo bag to call your Spirit Guide, add the following items to a small blue or white bag:
1. a stone of moonstone or rose quartz,
anointed with Queen of Cups oil
2. a pinch of mugwort
3. a marigold blossom
4. a talisman for the goddess- such as a Virgin Mary pendent,
or a pendent connected to a pagan deity
2. Third Eye Sight
To help you open your Third Eye chakra, and thus increase your psychic ability, anoint a blue candle with Queen of Cups oil, roll it in crushed mugwort, set it in a fireproof container, and light it.
As the candle burns, take a dab of Queen of Cups oil on the pointer finger of your dominant hand, and touch it to your third eye.
After the candle has burned itself out, fill a crystal bowl half-full of water, adding the remains of the candle and ashes, and set it outdoors where it will catch the moonlight.
The Queen’s Oils
I have been so busy lately that I meet myself coming and going, no kidding. 🙂
There’s been a sharp rise in letters and emails coming in from total strangers asking for advice, spells, tarot readings, mentoring, and a million other things. If I haven’t answered your message, it is nothing personal– really!— I just have more coming in than what I can keep up with. Letters/emails from family, close friends, tarot clients, or customers take top priority; I’ll get to any other letters the best I can and still, I probably won’t be able to answer every piece of correspondence coming in.
But know that your interest and your enthusiasm are both welcome! Just because I can’t answer everything that comes to me, it doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy hearing from you.
I’ve also been straddling a writing project that I feel compelled to pour my efforts into rather than correspondence, since I’ve given myself a deadline that I’ve missed once so far, this snatches away some of my time and creativity for personal letter writing. I’m attemtping to put my nose to the grindstone harder right now with our home schooling, as I have witchlings transitioning from junior high this year– and math is a major, major priority. I also have to get my house ready for company at the end of this month– my coven is coming to celebrate Beltaine. Remember, on my myspace page I said that I was a ‘hit and miss housekeeper’, well this has really come back to bite me in the rear. I have so much to do in this respect, trying to get things whipped into shape around here, that just knowing where to start sends me into a tizzy.
Despite all this there are some new things up at The Witch’s Corner, and some updates for tarot readings, and what not…
These are elemental bottles, geared to the magick of the element of "Air" and contain the herbs used for Air magicks…These bottles deal with communication, ideas, creativity, the breath of life, poetry, music, the muses, the spark of thought, fairie magic, and the sylphs.
Bright Idea Bottles
The four pendents shown above are unique hand-crafted one-of-a-kind items being offered. The four you see
here are all that is available.
Red Tara Spell
To these beautiful pendents that hold the flavor of the east, I’ve added a Red Tara Spell…
Red Tara is a Tibetan goddess of love and wealth. She is also known as "The Mother of Perfected Wisdom", and she takes delight in and is drawn to an open mind and a receptive heart. Tara represents the virtues of success and achievement. She is a tantric deity who will help you develop certain inner qualities and understand deeply ‘compassion’.
One reason for Tara’s popularity is the fact that she became known as a Buddhist deity who could be invoked directly by the common people.
And to these beautiful pendents I’ve added the Red Tara Spell, invoking this ancient goddess and summoning her power. From this spell, you will draw upon ancient wisdom and gather insight you never dreamed possible.
I’m now offering telephone readings. After purchasing a reading at paypal, you may call the number listed to set up an appointment for your reading.
I’ve had several requests for this type of option at my tarot site for some time, we’ll see how it works for everyone.
The tarot readings at my site come in a wide range of prices to accomodate everyone, from online readings ranging in prices below $20.00 and up to $80.00, as well as video readings for $50.00. The telephone readings are my most expensive option at $120.00– this was to insure two things for me…1) that I wouldn’t be swamped with so many reading requests I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the demand and 2) to insure that the clients contacting me were serious about receiving a tarot reading and not someone who just wanted a chance to chat with me on the phone.
I’ve enjoyed reading tarot for the public, have made some wonderful friends from it, gained some incredible opportunities because of it, and have hopefully helped people through difficult circumstances or added new insight and food for thought to their daily lives. Your positive responses and feedback have been greatly appreciated.

Paranormal Tarot Event
Last month, when I was giving live tarot readings at Next Millennium, I had the most unusual experience. Actually, it was two of us who shared the experience—me and the lady I was reading for.
The cards were laid upon the table, we were both bent over in concentration and involved in animated discussion, when suddenly, it looked and felt as though the table started sliding to my right, not just an inch or two, but maybe 6-8 inches. It made us both jump, and the sensation almost made me dizzy. I braced both hands on the top of the table and almost shouted at the woman, “Did you see that!” She most certainly had. We bent over to peer beneath the table, which was just a simple fold up card table. We used our hands to measure the distance between the wall-hanging and where the edge of the table now sat.
Then we shrugged our shoulders and picked up our conversation where we’d left off.
Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this during a tarot reading, or any other unusual paranormal activity while involved in divination? I’d love to hear about similar experiences.
I just finished reading Z Budpest’s experience of her Croning. It brought a new admiration and respect for women entering into this third stage of life. I know that middle-age was quite a surprise to me. You hear so many negative things about aging, especially about women aging, no one ever tells you how liberating it is. You feel as though you have finally ‘arrived’, which sounds strange but is so true. You have a better definition in your own head of who you are, what you want from life, what you expect from those around you, and where you are going next.
Middle-age fills you with a renewed sense of purpose, and more importantly, a renewed sense of yourself. Questions that have lingered in your mind are answered and new paths and adventures are opened to you.
When your time comes…embrace your middle-age and the Crone within you! She may very well turn out to be the most beautiful part of yourself.
As we come to the end of 2009 and prepare to begin a new year, we think about New Year’s resolutions, starting over with clean slates, and cleansing—cleansing our living space, clearing it of negative energy, bothersome entities, and other paranormal debris that creates its own kind of clutter.
There are many ways of cleansing a space, some as simple as lighting a white candle and burning incense. This is not a new concept, and through the centuries the ancients have come up with numerous ways to clear a living space of negative energy:
Asperging, cleansing by sprinkling water, is a practice still used by the Catholic Church today. Make a strong infusion by pouring boiling water over peony roots. Use a sprig of rosemary to dip in the water and sprinkle about a room or rooms. This same method can be used with mint as a substitute for peony.
Use a broom to sweep the floors, preferably from east to west. Burn the debris and throw the ashes outdoors. Finish up with a magical floor wash by adding a sprig of rosemary to your water.
Create Blessing Oil by adding frankincense and rosemary to olive oil or jojoba oil. Dress a blue and white candle with this oil, which means to rub the oil on the candle, and burn to purify the atmosphere.
Smudging, cleansing by using smoke to clear an area, has long been used by Native Americans. Light a sage smudge stick and walk slowly from room to room, dispersing the smoke. To clear a space of negative energy from a broken relationship, and to make way for a new love, burn dried rose petals and coriander.
You can also cleanse a space through sound. This is one reason bells are incorporated in churches; they are powerful space cleansers. Ring bells whenever you feel your space needs cleansing. You can hang bells or wind chimes in a breezy spot so that this type of cleansing becomes ongoing.
Botanicals don’t have to be burned to cleanse. Quarter an onion and place one piece in each of the four corners of a room. Replace and refresh as needed. Hang a bundle of rosemary and sage above the windows and doors to prevent negative energy from entering.
Crystals and stones can also be used to cleanse and purify your living space. Place amethyst stones in room corners to absorb negative energy. When they begin to look dull, wash them under running water and return them to their place. Other stones that can be used for this purpose are clear quartz crystal and malachite.
You may feel a difference in the atmosphere of your home after a cleansing. And it’s nice to know you’ll begin a new year in a clean space.
Happy New Year.
The four elements…Earth, Air, Fire, Water.
These elements are used by the Witch in her practice of magick. They correspond to the four compass points and are invoked to guard her sacred space during ritual, providing protection from negative energy and malevolent entities. They represent the elemental beings of gnomes, sylphs, salamanders, and undines; and they represent the energies associated with each. They have particular correspondences connected to color, magickal intention, the planets, days of the week and timing when it comes to spell crafting. They are as old as time, as infinite as the universe, and I’d like to introduce you to each one…
Earth is all the treasures buried deep within the soul. It is the material things you long for and were told you shouldn’t have. It is the security of that which is solid and immovable, and it is “manifestation” into the real world of touch and taste and smell and sight.
Air is the soft breeze on your face that makes you feel touched and not touched. It is thought brought alive and moved through space and time by the Divine. Air is the part of your mind that is clear and sharp and focused and ever changing, never still and never content, but always swept up within another breeze and moved along on the current of time.
Fire is that physical passion so burning that it can consume. It is enthusiasm so powerful that it is what drives you to succeed. Fire is that fiery will that doesn’t allow you to give up in the face of adversity. It is what draws lovers together across insurmountable odds and provokes the passion that fights endlessly for justice.
Water is the mist of yesterday and today and tomorrow all wrapped up into one magical moment. Water is dreams and visions and questing endlessly to know the unknown. It is divination– searching for answers and listening to the universe for its response. It is the mystical and the elusive. It slips through your fingers leaving you wet and cold and shivering, knowing that you have been touched by the Divine.
I answered the following questions as part of an interview:
Are you willing to step outside all perceived boxes?
I’ve been stepping outside of boxes, perceived or not, since I was twelve years old.
Do you ever wonder if “this is it”?
No, I don’t wonder “if this is it” because I already know that there is much more below the surface. The physical life that we view from this plane on Earth is only the tip of the iceberg. Other realities, other planes of existence, surround us; most people are simply unaware.
Listen to your inner self…What does it really wish it could be doing?
I’ve listened to my inner self for over fifty years. After a certain age you raise your head a moment from your daily endeavors and you suddenly realize: “Voila’!! I have arrived!”
Have you ever felt like you were supposed to be doing more with your life?
At certain stages, but then, somehow, you gravitate to those things you should be/wanna be/could be doing, and sometimes you get there through incredibly round-a-bout ways. ‘Everything happens for a reason’, so the old cliche goes.
Have you ever yearned to use your natural talents to contribute to the world?
Absolutely…That’s why I became a professional tarot reader; that’s why I built my website; that’s why I became a Pagan activist; that’s why I became a Reiki practitioner.
Do you ever feel like you are wasting time on things that aren’t important to you?
Every wife & mother of a large family feels like that, if not daily, then every once in a while– usually when she’s cleaning off the kitchen counter for the tenth time in a day, folding someone elses’ socks, or scrubbing the toilet bowl. But even those small mundane chores of life are part of what makes us who we are.
Do you desire to serve others in a bigger way but don’t know how?
I’m learning how, have been now for years, and although new doors are opening all the time for this opportunity, there are still other pathways and possibilities to explore.
To some people, witchcraft conjures up expectations of a genie in a bottle…wishes will be granted, wealth and beauty attained, enemies punished, and new loves found. Witchcraft can accomplish these things, although not instantaneously and often in ways you don’t expect.
Today, let’s look at “Beauty”…to be beautiful is the desire of most people, as is shown by the big business of plastic surgery and the cosmetics industries. But how did our ancestors go about attaining beauty? Those wise women of the distant past who had only themselves to rely on for creating the products and methods they would use…
It is said that by going out early in the morning, on that first May day, and bathing your face in the shimmering dew, you will achieve the appearance of youth and beauty. I believe the magick of morning dew works not only on May Day, but throughout the year as well. I use to do this as a child, long before I ever heard the legend. Decades later, I still swear by the tingling sensation of those sparkling diamonds of moisture.
This common and popular herb has many uses and is a standard in most witches’ cupboards. The ability to enhance “Youth & Beauty” is only a small part of Rosemary’s allure, but it is a popular one.
Fill a glass jar with water, sprinkle in a large pinch or two of dried Rosemary, and let this steep for a couple of days. (You can then pour this through a sieve to remove the Rosemary.) Refrigerate it and use it as an astringent for your face. Wet a cotton ball and bathe your face in the chilled dark water, reeking of the pungent odor of this wonderful herb.
Let the magick and energy of Rosemary work for you to create glowing skin and a more youthful appearance.

Photobucket– Much to my son’s satisfaction I’ve stopped saving to my own computer every single image I run across that I want to keep. I was a computer space hog here at home– and there are so many of us using this computer. But one of the drawbacks to using an image straight off a public folder at photobucket is that you have no control over the image being moved or deleted.
The music– I found some pieces by Deuter that I haven’t used before. I love this music– I’ve got to have my daughter check iTunes for me; I want their CDs. My favorite song of the three I chose for the musicbox is, "Journey Into Light", it’s haunting.
There’s something about the Elements– I get goosebumps everytime I read the invocations.
