Our home has been registered as “Certified Wildlife Habitat” by the National Wildlife Federation. We are officially “Hedgewytch Hollow”. There are several requirements that your land/grounds must meet in order to qualify for certification. For anyone interested, I’m posting a link to the NWF at the bottom of this post.

I’m so excited about this that I’m like a little kid bouncing off the walls! I’ve wanted to do something like this for such a long time and just didn’t know how to go about it. We’re going to check this year with our county extension office to see if, as certified wildlife habitat, we are eligible for any programs– perhaps for saplings, seed, wildlife feeding programs, etc.
Oh, Debbie– every garden is a work-in-progress, that’s for sure!! We’ve lived here for 15 years, and we are always saying the same thing you just said, “I wish we could do a few more things…” My three youngest kids– 15, 13, and 10– have only known this spot as ‘home’.
What a beautiful sanctuary you have!! It inspires me to do a few more things to my own garden……it is a work in progress! I shall be looking forward to seeing more photos of your lovely garden in the future… Bright Blessings and Love…..!
