Three Scenarios ~ three people? or all the same poor soul?

Once again, there are three people in this reading, maybe these are three completely separate individuals dealing with their own lives and their own personal dilemmas…

Or is this all one person?

  • 1)  2/swords; 3/pentacles

You are  being bombarded with unwelcome advice and criticism.  In the midst of this bombardment, caught in the act of trying to protect and defend yourself, you lose sight of what it is you’re working towards and which direction you want to go.  You thought you had it figured out, you thought you had it carefully planned, you thought it would work.  But these voices, these people and the chaotic confusing energy they are creating has interfered with your mind and your train of thought.

Advice/solutions: King/cups — reversed

Follow your heart.  Discard the negative opinions being shot your way, or even the negative people, if this is how far you want to go. Know that your own instinctive intuitive knowledge is correct.  Know that you had it right the first time, all those plans, all those ideas and goals.  Know that sometimes in life there are people who are actually afraid of someone else’s success, someone else’s bold plans and actions, because they themselves are scared and insecure.

  • 2)  Page/wands — reversed; The Chariot — reversed

You may feel totally upended.  You had something planned, you were ready to go, and wham — someone did something to knock the energy, passion, and enthusiasm right out from under you.  You seem to have lost your desire as well, for this thing you were ready to do, this place you were ready to go, perhaps this person  you were running towards.

It’s like the air has been let out of your balloon.  

What happened?  What did they do?  What were you told?  What did you discover?  What was revealed?  What was the turning point for you, that maybe changed your mind?

Advice/solution:  3/cups — reversed

Leave the crowd behind, leave the clique behind; leave behind other people’s expectations, and unnecessary burdens, and impossible standards.  Step away from an individual, or a group, that are clouding your judgement, making you question your decisions and choices, making you feel unsure of the world around you and of reality itself.

Step away into the lovely oblivion of introspection.  Reacquaint yourself with the world as you last saw it, when your visions, dreams, and goals were clear, and sharp, and in focus.  Go within to find yourself, and then trust your instincts and move forward.

  • 3)  King/cups — reversed; 2/pentacles — reversed

Your indecision, your inability to make a choice; the idea that you have that this situation can go on indefinitely and doesn’t need immediate attention… this is all maddening to the individuals in your life, specifically the individuals directly connected to this dilemma.

There is the feeling of something, or someone, or a situation being trapped in a strange sense of “limbo”, not being able move forward, or backward, and the idea that with this state of being everything will be lost.  If you would only make a decision and stick to it… that’s the trouble here, you see, that you keep changing your mind.

Advice/solution:  9/cups — reversed

You will never get exactly what you wished for, and even if  you would, it would not live up to what you thought it would be.  Are your expectations too high, or unrealistic, or romanticized?  With this third reading, there is just the most disheartening feeling that you will never be realistically happy, and I hate to end a reading on such a negative note.  So let me leave you with some suggestions:

  • learn to live in the moment
  • know that what you have right now may be all you get
  • don’t give up so easily — on a situation, a relationship, an individual, or yourself
  • learn patience

It’s going to be up to you to learn to be content in life.  The ball is in your court.

Two people want the same thing,
how is this going to roll?

The Deck: After Tarot 
The Cards:  Page/swords; 4/pentacles; 5/swords; 9/pentacles — reversed; 8/wands; 9/swords

Today the cards are talking about opposition.  Two people trying with great effort to both claim the same thing,   And all this time, a third party trying desperately to hang onto it, whatever “it” is… general reading here, so there are many possibilities and scenarios:  a relationship, a material item, opportunities, a job, privileges, etc.

There is a lot of swift and impulsive communication going on, meaning that things will be said that may later be regretted, the truths may be stretched or exaggerated, as each party tries to make their case (court case? — for someone).  It actually feels like two parties verbally bringing this issue before someone.  There is the feeling of each trying to convince a person who will make a decision that they are the better choice.  Who are they trying to convince?… a judge, a lover, an employer?

A swift decision will be coming.  The page of swords will get what it is they want, but the victory will be shallow, and it will lack the feel-good energy of  a genuine victory.  It will taste bittersweet.  The opposing party will be left decimated, and it may be a while before they can emotionally and mentally work through what it is they lost… and why.

You may find yourself taking on a difficult conversation, and not by choice.  In order to make a point, in order to reach a goal, in order to come out ahead (in a positive way), you may be called upon to face someone, or a situation, head on.  This is going to mean talking to them, or talking about it.  This is the only way you’re going to clear the air and celebrate your independence and peace of mind.

Spirit says, “Swallow the bitter pill first, and celebrate with sweet wine afterward.”

By opening the channel of communication in a straight forward (sometimes blunt) manner, you will put something into motion that’s been sitting at a stand still.  You will revive a situation, a relationship, or a person with a new sense of passion and energy.  You will cut through insignificant people, opinions, or influences that are no longer serving you.

Surrender ~ what’s holding you back

  • (The Cards: Surrender; Joy; Divine Support; Inner Knowing; Insight; Fulfillment)

When you finally learn how to surrender — expectations, apprehension, anxiety, negative thoughts, or any of the many personal demons that may be holding you back, you will find room for accomplishment, success, love, creativity, and… joy.

You already know, yes, you really do, what it is you need to surrender.  That little voice in your head has most likely been whispering this knowledge to you for years.  You also instinctively know what it is you need to do to succeed and find fulfillment.  But knowing what we need to let go of, and knowing what we need to do to achieve a goal is very different from actually letting go and doing.  Sometimes we have to work ourselves up to this point.

As you make this journey of surrender and achievement, one of many journeys you will make in your life, know that you have support and encouragement not only from family, friends, or a loving partner, but from the universe and Spirit as well.  As solitary as we may feel and life may seem, we’re never really walking this path alone.

The Wall May Be Coming Down

This king and queen are wary of each other, probably in opposition at one time, as though there’s been a lot of water under the bridge. The barriers and boundaries that were put up in the past, for protection and self-preservation, may be slowly dismantled now.

Extra cards: (All reversed: Ace/pentacles; 4/chalices; 3/athames; 2/pentacles)  

One of you will step forward with an offer, an apology, or a unique opportunity, which will be a surprise.  But the question is, will this contact out-of-the-blue be accepted?  There may be some trepidation and hesitation at the sudden appearance and peace offering, probably with good cause.  There was heartache, betrayal, and estrangement here and once, long ago, choices were made.

Nostalgic memories may be playing on your mind, invading mundane daily thoughts, creeping up on you when you least expect it. For someone, there’s a secret you’ve been keeping all these years that will finally be exposed; and for others, there is a secret that will be revealed to you. Either way, you’ll need some solitary time to process the ramifications and fall out from it.

There’s a decision right before you that you may not have realized is even an option… Choose, make a decision. Once you do, life and all it’s jigsaw pieces will fall into place.

You may need a bit of strength to have a difficult, but long over-due, conversation with a manipulative and rather daunting individual. Good luck making your point, this will require some eloquent persistence, but even then, you may feel that you’re beating your head against the wall, and you may feel that you are not succeeding in making your point.

The thing is, although the individual you’re trying to get through to may be too dense to get it, the effect of voicing your opinions, your feelings, your ultimatums, your truths, your concerns, and your solutions is going to be an unexpected cathartic experience that finally allows you to move on from this individual and the situation they represent. It will be an internal cleansing you may not even have realized you needed.

If this manipulative and controlling individual held any sway over you, they will lose this magical hold once you have found your voice and your courage.

Embrace the new you… and your new-found voice.

The correct decision, and necessary changes, will return equilibrium to your existence. Good thing.

Someone is not being subtle. They are charging in, voicing their opinions in big loud in-your-face drafts of wind; they are using bullying tactics to push their agenda, to gain agreement; they are holding someone in a mental state of imprisonment, dismissing someone elses opinions as insignificant.

The recipient of this barrage is the antithesis of the loud and obnoxious Knight. What’s really at odds here, the things that are facing each other in this show-down, are Conventional Mindsets and the Spontaneous Rebel.

This is not going to work… not the method, or the connection.

(The Hermit; 2/swords; Judgement) You find yourself on a solitary journey of the mind and will, standing at the threshold of a decision only you can make, a decision that will send you in a very specific direction. I can feel the sense of frozen anticipation this choice brings, the almost inaudible breath as you open your mouth to reveal the final outcome. What makes this decision feel so monumental, so surreal, is that you never thought you’d get this chance again, this choice. You thought this opportunity was lost forever. In essence, the universe is giving you a second chance. This time, do it right.

Today’s Tarot Cards ~ Let it go

  • Yep, it’s regrettable, what you lost. It’s sad, and you have probably gone over all the morbid grisly details in your mind a million times, needlessly getting a little weepy and morose at the reflection. But there it is, like a bad tattoo. You can’t get rid of it, you’ll never be able to hide it, and there will be many things in life that may be a reminder of this fiasco. However, it would be a crying shame if this past event and the regret that goes with it shadows and taints your future.
  • It’s in the past. It’s behind you. But you might feel as though it follows you wherever you go… into every new relationship, into every new venture. The thing is, life goes on and you’ll be making new connections and new memories to go along with it. How awful it would be if every new memory is tainted with a past memory, laced with regret. If this is the case, new-found happiness will always feel shallow and incomplete, and you will never feel fully satisfied. You can’t be happy with one foot in the past, longing for what you lost, guilty for the way things turned out. It is what it is, it was what it was.
  • Give it a rest. Let it go. If you won’t or can’t do this, don’t expect your future to unfold in grand and wonderful adventures of bliss and happiness. If you can’t or won’t move on… you’ll be cursed to carry the mold and stench of the past with you on your journey through life. And how unfortunate for anyone you may decide to start a new connection with. They’ll be forced to carry the mold and stench with them as well.

The High Priestess

Someone might finally have enough self-confidence (and common sense) to listen to their instinct and gut reactions. It gets tiresome when you know what you know, and people around you don’t realize this (especially if they’re trying to pull the wool over your eyes, makes them look like a fool and they don’t even know it). Also… the card is advising us not to become part of a pack, a group, as this can only lead to trouble and conflict down the road. Sometimes a solitary path is the best choice. Someone’s got a big head, it may be time for a reality check, give acknowledgement where recognition is due. Sit back and bide your time in silence, the day of reckoning will arrive.

The Fool (R)

Oops, someone is off to a false start. But that doesn’t mean you should give up. Regroup and begin again. I don’t think there’s any rules on how many times you can try from the beginning… again. Also… the cards are telling me that some of you have someone in the background who is influencing your decisions and probably a lot more. Is this a good influence, or a bad influence? Remember that with influence may also come manipulation. Be honest in your assessment.

The Magician (R) & Six/swords (R)

Someone lost (or gave away) a lot of their personal power in the course of a breakup or divorce.Sometimes the insinuation here is that the party giving up their personal power is experiencing a lot of guilt over the failure of this relationship, or they feel full responsibility for the end of it, usually through their behavior or choices (and actually, our behavior is determined by our choices, whether they are wise or shitty). Both cards are reversed, which implies regret on both sides, or unfinished business between a couple. Neither one has reached the other side, where they can experience life with a clean clear outlook, without being constantly drawn to their past, or haunted by it, whether consciously, or subconsciously. It may take a very long time for this wound to heal, or it may never completely go away. One of life’s regrets.

I’ve been busy working on the second new book for this year. April will be intense, and May will see it through to the home stretch. We’re tentatively looking at June and September as book release months. While I’ve been caught up in the birth pangs of a book, I have still kept tarot readings open and available at The Tarot Parlour. This year is creatively very exciting albeit very stressful for other apparent and sad reasons.
