What’s in the cards for you? Topics include: relationships, when is it time to leave; independence, what’s it going to take to achieve; liars and gossips, who’s going to come out ahead. Is there a relationship on the horizon for you?

As I have said over and over about tarot reading…the power, the knowledge, the wisdom, the insight, is not in the tarot cards– it’s in the Reader. The cards are just a tool, a beautiful tool, that gives the reader’s sub-conscious a little jump start. I believe that most tarot readers can actually learn to do readings without the cards. I believe that we can teach ourselves to open up to our clients and connect in our own magickal way without any divinatory tool. It’s just a matter of practice, of honing your skills, of learning to recognize and process psychic information, of learning to control any fear of being “wrong”. It’s a matter of trusting yourself and listening to that little voice in your head. Below is my first tarot experiment, a blind reading. Blind in that I have laid the cards, but I’m going to “read” them before I turn them, and then again afterwards.
The Blind Reading: A female, and the feeling of distress, but not just physical distress, it’s deeper than that. There is a family member from the past connected to a traumatic experience or memory. a Baker– pans and pans (baking pans) of large loaves of homemade bread. Coins (pentacles) slipping through your fingers, and the cheerful “ka-ching” metallic noise as they do so.
Other impressions: peasant dresses, or a peasant skirt; those little Russian doll figurines, the kind that is one inside another, inside another, etc.; the song “I’m a little teapot…”; white lilies and calendula.
After Turning the Cards: There she stands, the figure on the nine of pentacles; complete within herself, in a good place at the present time. The energy feels like that of a “survivor”. On one side– a relationship, possibly long and enduring, but not without it’s ups and downs (the reversal). It could also represent “something you’ve left behind”, and this makes me feel almost wistful. On the other side– the King of pentacles, a male family figure who has passed, or a man who’s influence still figures strongly in your life today. (And this influence feels all encompassing, whether this man is alive or not, you are– and have been– forever affected by his energy.)
Other impressions: the idea of successfully “weathering the storm”; angel wings; sharing; standing at a threshold; “The Grapes of Wrath”; the ram– Aries.

This reading is done in complete anonymity, and the only thing that’s really important to me is protecting the querent’s privacy and working on my own skills as a reader at the same time. I might also suggest other tarot readers try this and give us your impressions! What do you think of a Blind Reading? Did a blind reading work for you? Do you actually pick up information more clearly before you turn the cards, or after? (Leave a comment, let us know.)

Introduction:
The tarot works in mysterious ways. I’ve used it for individual readings for clients, and in the process have picked up family members (deceased and living); business associates; old friends and lovers; as well as enemies; past, present, and future events; hidden agendas and circumstances; and just a plethora of details about my clients and their lives. I’ve also used tarot readings to explore and investigate criminal cases, primarily missing person cases. What amazed me most about these readings were the fine details that would come through, as well as flashes of visions that accompanied the experience.
What I’m going to do today is something that I’ve never tried before. I’m going to put the tarot to use in the mundane world of finance and business by doing readings for major corporations. I’m going to use the tarot to explore business analytics.
Note: For legal purposes, I want to state that these readings are entirely my own project, that this was my own idea, and I have not been approached by any of the corporations listed here for any services what-so-ever. The interpretations of the cards are my own personal interpretations; and these readings are done for entertainment purposes only.
With that said…
The first corporation up:
Verizon: (January 2015 to June 2015)
January…The Chariot ®, 8/cups ®, King/cups
You’re not going anywhere new this month. I believe this means that if you were working on a venture to connect or merge with another company, this venture is going to come to a standstill, at least for a while. Someone is leaving– interesting. Who could it be?…an investor, a board member, someone or some financial institution which carries a great deal of weight in some way within the company. In the end, whatever deal is grinding to a halt during this phase, complacency might have had something to do with it, along with an individual (or committee) who was too laid back, not aggressive enough to follow through. Timing is everything.
February…6/pentacles, 9/cups, 6/cups
It looks like you’ll get your wish this month (9 of cups). It also looks like this wish you get is connected to an old partnership, or wheeling and dealing that may have started way in the past, something that’s been in the works for at least two years or more. February looks like a very bright month, both money wise and partner wise. This new partnership will be a “marriage made in heaven”. Enjoy and bask in the glow.
March…3/cups ®, 2/cups ®, The Tower
March is going to be a cataclysmic month for you. Don’t count your eggs before they’re hatched, as the old saying goes. February’s celebration will be put on the back burner while you deal with unexpected issues that could result in nasty backlash. It’s part of something-gone-bad with a connection. I’m thinking of this situation like a running river– if someone dumps their sewage into the water upstream, eventually it’s going to make it’s way downstream…and it will stop right at your front door. March is going to be Damage-Control-Month. Better get crackin’, get your best PR people on it.
April…3/wands, 5/pentacles ®, 10/cups ®
New contracts or business connections are going to arrive with April that will vastly improve the money market. Things are looking up. If you’ve been working on a new idea or venture that has proven to be faulty in the past and wasn’t quite coming together, that will all change. I think this is one of those deals where They need you as much as you need Them, warped maybe, but it works. The thing is, all should be happy at this corporate house, but there may be a few skeletons in the closet, a few cobwebs that need some sweeping…right out the front door. April may be a month where you have to take a hard look at your corporate family and decide who is beneficial…and who is not.
May…6/wands, 9/swords ®, 7/cups ®
May is a victorious month. Think of it like winning the lottery, or shooting the eight ball into the side-pocket. The issues that were causing all that anxiety and dread have been successfully resolved. Decisions, possibly decisions that were a long time coming, or decisions that were holding up a project, have been reached– the choices have been made, and they are gloriously correct. Ride high in this month of May, enjoy the victory.
June…7/pentacles ®, 4/cups ®, 9/pentacles ®
June foreshadows a touchy subject that’s been put off, or hidden, for a long time. Someone’s tending the bank, and the there may be some issues with that Someone and how they’ve handled investments and funds. Honestly, you can’t avoid dealing with this topic any longer, and the sooner you face it and resolve it, the better. As a matter of fact, it will be more than better. Actually, the outcome will be to your benefit, though there may be a few repercussions here and there that will need a bit of damage control. Cleaning house and straightening out business sometimes means airing dirty laundry, but it’s nice to know that in the end everything’s going to come up smelling like roses.

My sister is missing since 1990. can you tell or see anything. How much If I want. I am from Singapore
The video below is the reading done for this request. I didn’t have any information other than what you see in the message I received, not even the young woman’s name. To her brother…I hope that you’ll find some answers with this reading, or that at least it will give you some clues as to where you could look next, or possibilities you could follow up on. Let me know what happens.
The biggest shock to me was when I picked up the fact that she was breaking up with someone, probably the night she disappeared. It was like being slapped in the face. Think on it– who was she with last? Authorities should at least take a look at the last boyfriend she had.

Greetings, This is actually Saturday morning (Memorial Day Weekend), as I write this.; and I sit now on the back porch, big old coffee mug beside me; lawn mowers humming in the background, tarot cards on the table beside me. I’m going to do one of my favorite things to do with tarot– I’m going to pull a set of triplicates. I’m just letting the universe speak to me. It might have something to say to me personally, or it might be tapping me on the shoulder with a message for someone else. I never know.
The deck I’m using this morning is The Psychic Tarot, and I’ve written a review of this deck, which you’ll find at this link: Here
Here we go:
7/Choose Wisely; Financial & Material Changes; Material & Spiritual Prosperity
For Myself: Good grief, this is absolutely eerie. Yes, I’ve made monumental decisions in my life over the past few months and these decisions are indeed precipitating material changes in our life. As I look at these cards, though, as important and positive as the material changes will be, there is a deeper and more important aspect to it– the ‘spiritual prosperity’ part. I’ll find myself in a unique position to touch people in ways I never dreamt possible; I’ll find myself in a position to open people’s minds up to the Goddess and spiritual paths that are outside the mainstream. I’ll be given the opportunity to touch people magickally, to educate, to expose them to the beauty and power behind nature based spirituality. It is both a blessing and a responsibility; I feel it keenly.
In General: I don’t know who you are, maybe you are many people reading this; but I know that you find yourself at a crossroads, that you are weighed down with indecision when a decision is what is required to lift the weight and move your life forward. What do you decide? Which direction will you go? Who’s instinct will you trust– what voice will you listen to– ?? In the end, it is your responsibility, this decision, and with it you will find a positive outcome, though you fret now. It will be okay, really, the cards point in such a positive direction. It’s a process, making this decision, and it might create change and disruption, this decision; but perhaps that’s because the architecture that is your life needs renovating…Don’t be afraid of the change. Embrace it.

The deck: Celtic Druid Tarot

The Priestess is telling me to get my shit together; get off my duff and use the power I have, embrace the magick, stop whining and complaining and make the necessary changes. Get things rolling, shake things up, she says. Feel the power, embrace the magick. You are who you are; you do what you do. It will be done. So Mote It Be.

*Note: These card a day readings are not necessarily posted to give you an in-depth look at a particular card. This isn’t meant to be a study or a lesson; you can follow the link provided for that. This card a day theme is often aimed at just me– how does this card strike me, right now, at this minute. What is it telling me? How is it helping me? The ‘card a day posting’ is often my life amplified, and I’ve realized that we’re all pretty much the same, though the circumstances are different, and how this card affects me can impact you.
The following questions were put to me by an aspiring journalist with an interest in divination, the occult, and the paranormal. They’re good questions, all, and I tried to answer them as clearly as I could:
1. Tell us about yourself. What do you do for a living? What are your hobbies and interests, hidden talents?
I was born in California, raised in South Dakota, and live in Nebraska. I’ve always been drawn to writing and started journaling when I was 12; I’ve always been drawn to the occult and paranormal, experiencing spirit contact for many years at various levels of intensity in my grandmother’s old house. At one point, as an adult, I began writing books, books on the topic of divination (the tarot) and books about witchcraft and gray magick. To my surprise, these books have been quite successful. I earn a living, so far, through writing and tarot reading.
My hobbies and interests? I’m an avid reader (most writers are). I love gardening, collecting (swords & daggers, tea pots, rocks and crystals, old books, feathers, sterling silver jewelry, and cats); I’m a chocoholic, a master procrastinator, a lover of old movies, antique shops, forests, old market areas, and high heels (some of which I buy but never wear). I love creating magickal oils and potions, eating ice cream cones, and designing websites. I’m a dreamer and visionary caught in the harsh reality of the modern world and modern life.
2. You are a professional tarot card reader. What sort of services do you provide to clients?
Yes, I am. I provide readings to my clients through a variety of mediums, including web cam readings though Skype, video readings, telephone readings, and emailed readings that are written out and sent to my clients. I provide face to face personal readings within my own community, as well as in-house readings done at book stores and shops and readings done for parties and corporate events. I also provide spell consultations to those individuals who want to cast a spell and do some magick but aren’t exactly sure how you put a spell together.
3. What was your career before you became a tarot reader? What made you decide to become a professional tarot reader?
Before I became a tarot reader I spent the greater share of my life raising a large family, being a stay-at-home mom and a home schooling mother. My decision to become a professional tarot reader was a very gradual and totally unexpected choice. It was probably the last thing I ever thought I would be, or the last thing that I ever thought I would do. For one thing, I always swore that I would never be able to charge anyone anything for a reading. Once I actually began reading for people outside my circle of family and friends, I realized that this was a job, just as any other occupation is a job, and that I would not be able to spend hours and hours working for free. I also realized that what I did made a difference in people’s lives; what I did was something very special and unique, and I also realized that what I did– not everyone was capable of doing.
4. How did you learn to read tarot cards? How and when did you discover you had this particular ability?
I bought my first deck of tarot cards (The Goddess Tarot) between fifteen and twenty years ago. It was the box that caught my eye when I was walking through a local book store. For weeks and months, this deck called to me every time I visited the store. At first, I tried to ignore it. I’d give the pretty box a perfunctory glance as we walked past the shelf. Eventually, I stopped. I would pick the box up and look at it. This went on for weeks. Eventually, I stopped. I finally asked for permission to open the box to see the cards. I gave in to whatever it was that was drawing me to this foreign deck of cards, to this strange thing called ‘tarot’, and I bought the deck.
The first few weeks, I was simply enamored with the artwork. The deck was totally unfamiliar to me, the meanings a mystery, how to put everything together to actually make sense of it never even entered my mind at this point. Although the ‘little white booklet’ that came with the deck was helpful in helping me learn the meanings of the individual cards, it did not help at all in learning how to look at the cards intuitively; it did not help at all in learning how to put all of this together on different levels to read the story the cards were trying to tell me. This came later, with a dawning moment, one of those ‘ah-ha’ moments you never forget.
It was only after the key turned and the door opened, that I realized the depth of knowledge, the true mystery, the exciting potential that lay in a deck of tarot cards. And the stunning revelation was that I actually understood the language.
5. How do tarot cards work exactly? How do they give a person guidance and advice?
The cards work, for me, simply as a trigger to unlock a series of associations– through the image, through my own intuition, through some connection that I really can’t describe and probably don’t completely understand. I just know that when this connection works, it is truly amazing, as amazing for me as it is for my client. I know there are people who follow all kinds of rules and ritualistic behaviors with their cards, but in general, I don’t. I view the cards simply as a tool. Two things that I do follow through with: 1) cleansing the cards of residual energy through the use of a incense and 2) placing clear quartz crystal points on top of the deck when they’re not in use.
How do the cards give personal guidance and advice?…they reveal possibilities for future events; they give warnings about situations, choices, or individuals in your life; they offer answers and alternative endings to the story; they connect with spirit guides; they connect with the divine; they link the human part of us with the universe in a way that imparts to us universal knowledge; and once in a rare while, they connect with the spirit of someone who has passed.
6. You have many clients all over the world, and they consult you via Skype, or over the phone. How are you able to read their energies, even when you’re thousands of miles apart?
Distance is irrelevant when doing a reading. Everything in the universe is connected by a thin strand of energy, everything, and the slightest touch anywhere sends vibrations everywhere– this is the basis for practicing magick, and this is also true when it comes to connecting intuitively with another individual. Just as a mother might instinctively know when a child is in danger from across many miles, through the tarot it’s also possible to connect on a very personal, emotional, and spiritual level with another human being no matter what the physical distance might be between you.
From here in the American mid-west, I’ve connected with and done readings for people in Canada, Great Britain, Greece, New Zealand, and Australia. It’s been an amazing experience, enriching my life as much as it has touched their lives. It truly is a miracle, there’s really no other word for it. It also confirms to me the incredible capacity that human beings have to open themselves up to each other.
7. What has been your biggest challenge with regards to your abilities? How have you overcome this challenge?
One of my biggest challenges is reading for men. It’s much more difficult for me to reach and maintain an open and fluid connection with male clients. How have I overcome this challenge? I’m working on it. I would imagine, being a woman myself, the connection that I have with female clients is much more empathic. It’s easier for me to understand a woman, her life, her dilemmas, her choices, and her fears. Reading for men is a totally different experience, and I can say this almost without exception, there seems to be a wall that I have to get past in order to pick up the energy of the cards.
8. Do you consider your ability a gift? How do you help people with this gift?
Of course, it’s a gift. Reading tarot cards is something that, for whatever reason, I have the ability to do. How and why I’m able to look at a deck of cards and pick information out of them are questions that I can’t answer. I think that everyone is born with a natural intuitive ability, a sixth sense, but not all people are able to put this gift to use. I think there are some people who are unaware of their psychic abilities, deny them, or are even frightened by them, so they squelch them. It’s like a muscle– if you don’t use it, you lose it. By using this gift, you strengthen it, grow with it, and develop an understanding of it.
I help people with this gift by giving them insights into their lives they otherwise would not have. Being aware of the choices available to them, the possible consequences that will ensue, alternate paths they can take, all broadens their perspective. It helps people to make better decisions in their lives, to come to terms with their past; it comforts them, and it lights the way for a brighter future.
9. Could you share some memorable experiences you had because of this talent?
Oh, my, there’s so much that comes to mind. The little girl at the Harry Potter bookstore party (Ace of Cups, reversed), someone she loved has left I told her. They most certainly had. A favorite cousin had moved away. Bless her little heart, it was like a dam burst, and I let her chatter uninterrupted while she told me all about it. There was the older woman, a doctor’s ex-wife, so marred by control and emotional abuse, it was painful to watch, painful to see all of her raw spots exposed. There was the man who denied the affair, until he finally admitted that he was living with his mistress, but he didn’t consider this an affair at all. There was the grandmother who had lost her five-year-old grandson due to a medical condition and problems with the ER equipment. There was the young Hispanic couple with the sick child. Highlights have included reading for a world famous architect and a grammy nominated musician. The world is full of fascinating people.
Humanity opens up before me like some supernatural ethereal akashic record, but it’s all flesh and blood, tears, worries, loves lost, loves found, personal issues to work through; it’s hopelessness, it’s hopefulness, it’s finding clarity, it’s relief, it’s all bigger than life, and it’s all painfully personal…this is what it’s like to read the cards for people.
1o. How do your clients find you? Where is your office located? Where can they reach you online?
My clients generally find me through my websites: The Witch’s Corner & Tarot: Books, Classes, Readings. I’ve had clients find me by word-of-mouth in the internet world and email me ( witch_of_endore@yahoo.com ); and I’ve had people find me at social sites, like Facebook and Pagan related sites.
I don’t have an office; but I do personal face-to-face readings in my own community (Fremont, NE), usually at one of our local coffee shops. These readings are scheduled privately and are by appointment only. Payment has to be made at the time the reading is scheduled– this might sound nit-picky, but after having a couple clients miss their appointments and spending an afternoon sitting there waiting for them, I realized just how valuable my time is– and now, they realize this too.
11. What’s a typical day like for a tarot card reader? What’s your usual schedule?
On days I’m doing in-house readings, I try to keep my schedule and the atmosphere light and stress free. Other than that, it’s just a matter of getting dressed and trying to estimate what traffic will be like in the cities so I get where I need to be on time. (I’m extremely punctual, so I’m usually early.) It’s very different reading at a shop where the clients have to pay for their individual readings themselves, as opposed to a shop that pays me a set fee so the readings for their patrons are free. When people get ‘free’ readings, it’s like a stampede– long lines and continuous readings that go on anywhere from two, four, or six hours. I quickly learned that I have to pace myself and that it’s okay to take regular breaks– no matter how long the line is. People generally tend to be realistic, well-mannered, and polite.
The Skype, video, and emailed readings are another story, especially the written readings…that usually means you’ll find me at the kitchen table in the wee hours of the morning with candles lit, a pot of coffee on, and me in my bathrobe, all comfy and busy. Video & Skype readings are fun, and the Skype readings are really as personal as face-to-face readings. I’ve had quite a time with international clients when we try to figure out time differences; it can be a juggling act and often results in some rather odd hours for either me or the client.
12. You have a natural talent for tarot reading, but is it possible to learn how to read tarot cards? How would one go about learning this skill?
Yes, it is possible for anyone to learn to read tarot cards. However, just as with any other endeavor, everyone’s skill level will be different, some people more attuned to it than others; but still, anyone can learn to do this. It’s fun, intriguing, and it is an excellent way to strengthen your intuition, your natural psychic abilities. Tarot cards can also be used for personal meditation and exploration, a very private thing, a special relationship shared between you and your tarot deck.
You’ll learn to read the tarot by 1) choosing and purchasing a deck…I always recommend for beginners that they choose a very basic standard deck to start with, and I usually suggest the Rider/Waite deck. 2) learning the basic standard meanings for each of the cards in the deck. 3) starting a tarot journal. 4) investing in a tarot course, or purchasing books on the subject, so that they can go beyond the standard definitions for the cards and learn to read intuitively, learn to interpret a spread, learn to apply numerology and a bit of astrology into the picture…there’s so much to the tarot, so many ways of looking at it, so many other esoteric connections to explore. Studying the tarot can become a life-long passion.

The Deck: The Psychic Tarot
Two figures stand on this card, identical figures, one in the shadows, one in the light, both gripping a golden scepter. They are eye to eye, stern, serious, surrounded by a galaxy of blue stars.
Black and white. Polar opposites, polar opposite energies, polar opposite personalities. What is the ulterior motive of this card? Its almost a dare. Who will win?– your good side, or your bad side…and is your bad side so bad after all, or can you think of it as just a different dimension of your whole being? This card is unique, in that it can be a mirror with two variations– it’s either going to point out an inward conflict, or a literal conflict within the real world.
This card is all that and more. When this card appears for me, it actually warns me of confrontation, confrontation that can be very personal. It warns me to be on guard, it warns me of ulterior motives, it warns me with an animal instinct that relies on adrenalin. It prepares me for the fight.
I’m in the process of transforming my online tarot classes into audio form. These audio clips are basically setting these lessons up (Lessons 1-6, including a brief introduction with Lesson #1). When this phase is done, I’m going to video-tape an expanded lecture on the lessons– a video for each of the six classes. I’ll be combining an audio version (which basically sets the lesson up) with a video-taping as a single unit you can purchase for each lesson.
I am having *way too much fun* doing this, it’s a hoot. I’ll be posting here and on Facebook and Twitter, as soon as these audio/video clips are ready. I’m hoping to accomplish all this in 1-2 weeks.
When the major arcana card “Justice” comes up in my readings, 95% of the time it’s because the person I’m reading for is involved in some way with the judicial system. They’re either going through a divorce, or involved in some sort of litigation or other legal issues. Always. This never fails. But getting someone to admit it, or getting them to see the connection, isn’t so easy.
When I was doing readings at Ameristar, two very common looking middle-aged mid-western women sat down across from me, all giggly and twittery from the nervousness of having their cards read for the first time. As I guessed, from their very mundane appearance and demeanor (and energy), there wasn’t anything earth-shattering going on in their lives. It was really kind of boring, actually, though I wouldn’t say this. But “Justice” popped up, and it popped up in a significant way that sort of tapped me on the cheek– there’s a connection here, it said, shhhhh….listen.
I looked into the round face, the eager eyes, the lady bent expectantly over the cards, and I asked, “Do you have anything going on with the judicial system right now?”
Her eyes glanced up into mine (we were very close), and she said, “Ahhh….no, nothing that I can think of.”
“Yes,” I insisted. “You have some connection with the judicial system.”
She turns to her friend sitting in the chair beside her, “Agnes, I can’t think of anything, can you?”
Agnes squints as she thinks, wracking her brain, “Noooo…”, she starts to say, drawing the word out as she was still thinking, then suddenly…“Well, your sister is a Clerk of Courts.”
I had all I could do to keep from laughing.
(Follow this YouTube link to “The Witch’s Diary”, where I’ve recorded a 12 minute video while setting up to do this online reading):
http://youtu.be/6reiXr9pLCA
1/This is you:
The Wheel of Fortune
First impression: Jupiter (expansion, money issues, business issues, growth– an interest in, or an active participation in, business activities). The idea of three aspects to some area of your life (the triple goddess; three times ’round (3 marriages, serious relationships, etc.); three choices; three victories/three failures; three days/months/weeks until an important event–if you actually have something specific coming up in one of these time frames, and there is a decision involved, know that it’s going to turn out in your favor.
As I’ve said, you must tend to be lucky in games of chance, or life in general. Lady Luck tends to sit on your shoulder, don’t brush her off– this can be done by any number of ways; with some people it just amounts to poor choices, with others it’s a matter of not listening to that little voice in their head.
2/ This is your defense:
The Devil
First impression: “The devil made me do it.” (remember the black comedian whose tagline this was?) There comes the idea of not taking the blame for something that may not be working out. If there are any negative issues standing around in the limelight when this card pops up, the situations (and the results) are pretty much self-inflicted.
Someone may be asking for help; seeking advice; reaching for a life-line; trying to get your attention (unless it’s you trying to get someone else’s attention). The snake (a totem animal): wisdom, kundalini energy, the goddess, temptation, a connection with the earth (in a spiritual sense, as Gaia). Again, there is the idea that three individuals are involved here– like two to one, but it’s a little hazy (possibly three women, or two women & one man). The element of Earth– emphasis on the physcial aspect of life, the material things, those things of the body– pay close attention to health issues, Dr. appointments, scheduled physicals, etc.
3/ This is what you are afraid of:
Five-Cups
First impression: You’re afraid of losing someone, or you have already experienced this, and you don’t want to go through it again. Really!?…the idea of “3” comes once more with this card, as in three losses; the saying, “Three times the pain”; “Bad things come in threes”; but also, “There’s light at the end of the tunnel”; “Time heals all wounds”.
We all fear losing someone we love, but when this card comes up for an individual in a reading, it touches home in a more direct and intimate way, either through a previous experience, a touch of dejavu, or a future event. I’m also under the impression that you are “trying to swim upstream”; “going against the current”; maybe you are “fighting a losing battle”…which would mean it’s time to regroup and consider a different strategy, a different way of looking at something. As the saying goes, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
4/ This is what drives you:
Queen-Wands
First impression: There’s a woman behind you, and a strong woman she is. She may very well hold the ‘key’, the answer to your question, the solution to your situation; you only have but to trust her and confide in her.
This woman is holding something, something which may give her power and energy; hopefully this isn’t something she is holding ‘against’ you, but rather, something that is totally coming off of her, something defining in her personality, her life-decisions, her morals, her strength. The idea of the auroboris (the snake circled around, holding its own tail in its mouth– a symbol of eternity). The element of Fire: passion; justice; survival; equality; fair play extremely strong emotions– whatever they might be, including love, lust, anger. I just want to add that when this Queen is in your corner, her loyalty is flawless, and she will protect you to the end. If this Queen is your enemy, she is one of the most vicious and vindictive you can imagine.
Also– if you need ‘fighting energy’ for anything in your life right now, it’s this Queen’s energy, this card, that implies it’s at your fingertips.
5/This is what you are left with:
Four-Cups
First impression: You are not happy with the way something turned out; you’re avoiding an issue; you’re being stubborn, you may be turning down an offer you should accept– or you may even be totally unaware of it.
This card often implies that you are tired; you’re tired of having to think about something; you’re tired from trying to solve something; you’re over-worked; you need a break; you don’t want to pay attention anymore. You’re waiting for something. Also coming to mind, the saying, “My plate is full”…and believe it or not, here comes the “3” again– this is really starting to intrigue/puzzle me. There must be some incredibly meaningful universe-centered reason that this number is coming up– even if it’s not glaringly apparent to me, it might be to you, whose life it is impacting.
6/This is what the future will bring:
Eight-Swords ®
First impression: A release; freedom. With this first impression comes the idea that at the moment you may feel trapped, or uncertain of how to proceed, unsure of what path you wish to take. You also may feel like your hands are tied and you are helpless to make necessary changes.
Sunrise, and the idea of future events ahead; sunset, and the idea of completion, coming to the end of something. Help…the figure on this card is imploring and trapped, confined and restrained. Bottom line here, and it’s positive (really), is that this period is coming to a conclusion. Freedom, release, and the idea of seeing your future clearly, is right around the corner.
7/This is what brings you back down to earth:
Four-Pentacles ®
First impression: a tremendously grounded individual, though things might be a bit up in the air at the moment. You like things stable, consistent, sound and granite-like. Someone who likes to be in control, on top of issues– and again, things around you may not be this way, or at least they may not feel this way to you right now. Never mind, though, you generally land on your feet.
Money issues; and this issue is such a huge deal that in most people’s lives it can be a dominating factor. (Making a living, for those of us who are ordinary individuals, is no joke.) The idea of “Getting a grip”; “Hanging on for the ride”; “Buckling down”, all come to mind. Checkerboard– black and white issues (where are the shades of gray?); thinking with your heart instead of your head.

Partnership, pairing, and sharing. As much as our individuality is respected and held sacred, so is our ability to share our lives, our world, our bodies, and our selves with another human being. Whether we are mated to someone through romantic love, creative endeavors, ideas, familial connections, or simply choice– this is a sacred union because what is part of us is touching another individual, adding to the experience of their life in ways we might not even realize. The fluidity of relationships is highlighted with this card, represented by the ocean and a pair of dolphins interacting on a blue horizon. Partnerships are not stagnant and are constantly metamorphosing to encompass change, changes within the partnership itself and changes to the individual. Because of its fluidity, partnerships, friendships, and special connections may not always be forever, but may touch our lives at a moment when it is most needed, when this connection will be most beneficial.
(The deck: Motherpeace Tarot)
3 Empress:
This card is wide hips and breasts full of milk, knowledge, history, and strength. It reaches into the past, far beyond the clutches of Christianity, to a deeper time when we were more connected to the earth and nature’s natural cycles. It dances the joyful dance of femininity, the dance of the wise-woman. The Empress luxuriates in all that is hidden and cloistered within our sub-conscious. She is our base raw sexuality, she is the essence of the witch, the female shaman, the matriarch in all her old glory. Through her lineage all women are connected, and one day the world will turn once more to the Divine Matriarch and set destiny upon an old new path.

Write your readings down, for yourself, for your clients, in your tarot journal, for future reference, to look back and see your magickal connection with the cards.

Below is an actual tarot reading for one of my clients:
1. Your husband’s job…
The Wheel of Fortune
The Fool ® 2/pentacles King/swords ®
It looks as though a change is coming, and it could be a change that turns things topsy turvy, at least for a while. (Note: spinning and cutting come to mind, weaving, as well as objects of a circular nature.)
The Fool generally sees us on a journey, whether a physical journey, or something new which we’re beginning…a new path, which reinforces our first card. This man either has an angel on his shoulder, or he has someone behind him from whom he draws support. It also appears that with this change will come greater financial balance. Also, the idea of “killing two birds with one stone” and “a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush”, comes to mind– this seems strange, even to me. I don’t know if there is a literal connection somehow to birds, or these cliques will have something to do with your husband’s employment in a figurative way.
The King of swords is a proud man who sometimes tends to take life too seriously. It would be to his benefit to look at the lighter side from time to time. Laughter reduces stress. (Note: I got the impression that this King needs some down time and that stress might be a factor in his future in some way.)

2. Your third grandchild…
Temperance ®
The Hermit 8/wands ® 8/pentacles
This will be a child of balance, patience, and determination; someone with fortitude who doesn’t give up easily, but keeps plugging away until the desired goal is reached.
This is also a solitary child, someone who isn’t afraid of being alone, but rather, gathers strength and maintains serenity by actively seeking ‘quiet time’. She (or he) will not act swiftly, will not in fact do much of anything quickly, but will have more of a slow and plodding nature about them.. They will certainly not be impulsive. Don’t become frustrated when you want something done quickly and it isn’t, ‘cause this child is going to do things in their own good time on their terms.
This individual will know, from a very early age, what their lifework is, and may begin an apprenticeship/training in this field at a very early age, possibly in the late teens/early twenties.
(Note: I don’t know where I get the ‘they’ from, but since it came on its own accord, I’ll leave it as is.)

3. General Reading
The Chariot
Princess/cups 3/cups Knight/cups
First, is someone getting married? If the aren’t right now, they will be in the future.
I felt, with the first group of cards that your husband’s change of employment would involve: 1) a move, 2) travel, 3) a long commute; and this concept is enforced here with The Chariot. Someone is going somewhere.
The Knight of cups brings to mind the story of the frog and the princess, Sir Lancelot, and the idea of dark water, totally disconnected thoughts…this is what happens when you use the intuitive method of reading the cards. If any of this doesn’t make sense to you now, it probably will in the future.
Also, autumn comes to mind, perhaps in relation to a time element for some of these events to play out. Actually, I feel that autumn is going to be very significant to you in some way. And I also feel as though water plays some significant role here as well– this could be actual physical water; such as a lake, river, creek, pond, etc.; or it could involve the element of water; which includes such things as emotions, dreams, intuition, the west, the color blue, and Mondays. It looks as though everyone is going to have their hands full, when it rains, it pours, as the old saying goes.

*About the reading: The ‘they’ in this particular reading came from the fact that I was not only picking up the unborn child, I was picking up a parent as well. As the mother told me, it was ‘freaky’, and I had it down pat, even to the apprenticeship.
The bond and connection between parent & child is the strongest of all human bonds. Remember this when you’re doing readings, just as in this case– when reading for one, you very likely will pick up the nuance of both.

Psychic readings, and particularly tarot readings, are a means of seeking answers to questions we may be avoiding, shining light on other people’s motives, exploring new paths and avenues we only suspected were there, and discovering guidance from a source outside ourselves.
If there’s something on your mind– a persistent question, a personal dilemma, a decision to be made– you can seek answers, direction, and inspiration from a uniquely personal psychic reading.
http://tarotreadingswithamythystraine.blogspot.com/
I just finished the most incredible reading for an intriguing client. Some people you read for have a ‘wall’ erected– either they want a reading but they’re actually skeptical about the whole thing, or they have something in their past that they might not want you to see, for whatever reason, they keep a protective emotional barrier around themselves that prevents you from getting all the way through to the real them. It can actually be tiring trying to read for these individuals. That was not the case for this lady and her reading. She has the most amazing energy– it’s open and fluid, it’s honest and clear, and it’s very easy to pick up on it and follow it…through the cards, through the seasons, through time.
Tarot Reading
Deck: Haindl Tarot
The Horoscope Spread (nontraditional)
September
The Emperor ®…Princess/stones…The Chariot
There seems to be issues with male energy this month. A male figure-head (father, husband, boss) seems to be having difficulties of some kind, disruptive issues that they are dealing with. This may be what leads up to a journey, either unexpected or rushed (or both). Connected with this is the idea that the lines of communication are not clear and someone is being misunderstood, or there is a sharp exchange of words.
Also…a hidden figure, someone lurking in the background, a third party, possibly a female; Aries, and the strong in-your-face energy associated with it; kingship, superiority, perhaps pertaining to someone’s mentality or someone’s perspective; vulnerability. The idea of ‘safety-in-numbers’; the idea of ‘the-odd-man-out’, the black sheep, or someone who tends to stand out from the crowd in some distinctive way. I’m also getting the idea of something ‘behind’ you, which may be figuratively speaking (do you often have the feeling of being rushed, or pushed to do things, as though someone were prodding you on from behind…that’s what I see). The waning moon will be an important time for you, you must want to ‘bring something to you’, which is what this moon’s energy is used for (but perhaps you already know that). “This girl is on Fiiirre…” The words to this song, as well as an image popped into my head– and here’s where psychic readings are so weird– this could mean to literally watch out for actual physical fire of some sorts somewhere sometime, or it could mean some kick-ass wild energy that you are able to whip up.
If you were looking for some connection to the Mother Goddess, it has come up with this card. In the Haindl deck, the Princess of Stones is depicted as the Lakota “White Buffalo Woman” …“The woman’s name was PtesanWi which translated White Buffalo Calf Woman. She taught the Lakotas seven sacred rituals and gave them the chanunpa or sacred pipe which is the holiest of all worship symbols. After teaching the people and giving them her gifts, PtesanWi left them promising to return. Later, the story became attributed to the goddess Wohpe, also known as Whope, or Wope…”
October
King/swords ®…The Hermit ®…The Wheel of Fortune
The month of October seems to be starting out with some male energy also, but not as pronounced and over-bearingly strong as last month. This King may be an actual person in your life– very intelligent he is, rather wordy though, loves to hear himself talk, and tends to be very opinionated. Since he’s standing on his head, he’s either not being very effective in trying to convince you of something, or in trying to influence your life in some way, though he tries. The Hermit is also on his head, which means it’s time to reach out and leave the quiet meditative solitary moments for a later date. It will be to your advantage this month to reach out, to touch base, to contact people you may have been out of contact with for some time, or to make new friends and new contacts. The Wheel, this ominously portentous card, is actually telling you that your luck will change– is this a good thing? Most of the time, yes.
Also…You are feeding into something, and I’m not quite sure if this is a good thing, or if this is a bad thing, but I’m betting you’ll know what it is and be able to figure it out when you ask yourself this question– good? Or bad?; whatever you’re feeding into, it’s growing– this could mean such a variety of things, and this is where I wish that psychic readings would work like they do in Hollywood movies and I’d see that little vignette in my head, but it doesn’t, and I don’t….are you enabling someone? Are you patting their ego, which might already be too big? Are you promising something that you might not be able to follow through with?– these are all just questions for thought.
The totem animal, the owl, comes to mind (wisdom, the goddess Athena, predation); also, the idea of lots of watchful eyes– and this I’m picking up from The Hermit, so it sort of gives me the feeling that you might have people watching you when you least suspect it, and this could be in some big pompous way (like in the workplace), or it could literally mean a peeping tom, so keep your shades drawn at nighttime. “Jupiter”…expansive energy, something you’re working on or towards may prove fruitful and successful about now (financial issues, financial and business endeavors, legal issues)…for any of these things, the time is *Now*.
November
10/wands ®…The Hanged Man ®…Ace/cups
This appears to be your “Month of Emancipation”. Not only are you giving the finger to whomever it was/is who’s trying to stab you in the back, or at least influence you to their advantage, but you’ve also let go of the martyr syndrome, and you’re finally doing something for yourself for a change. And it looks like a new relationship is on the horizon (the Ace of Cups). Also…remember last month and ‘all those eyes’ watching you? Well, this month you put distance, or some sort of barrier, between you and ‘them’. I have a feeling that you’re going to learn to set boundaries, or this might also mean that there will be physical distance between you and this group of people– if it’s work related, be prepared to find yourself relocating for your current job, or starting a new job in another location; if it has to deal with family and friends, it’s that good healthy boundary that I just spoke of. Love them as we do, sometimes family can be stifling, and sometimes they can be just downright manipulative.
Rainbows come to mind, and the idea of revelation, salvation, coming-of-age, self-exploration, rejuvenation, rebirth, resurrection.
December
Three/wands ®…Princess/cups ®…The Star
The month of December will be a time of cleansing and caution, of third party endeavors that might entail an unexpected glitch or two, which just might shed some light where light needs to be shed. It could also be a month in which there is an unusual exchange between you and someone you‘re very close to, an exchange that could uncover some information that you might find disconcerting, surprising, or upsetting, or all three, or none of the above if you‘re really laid back and open-minded. This set of cards is sending off a strange set of vibes that seem to be confusing and contradictory– and this very well may be the energy that you experience during this month.
Also…if new contracts, or any other legal document, comes up that needs signing this month, be extra cautious. You might want to have an attorney take a look at it if you don’t understand it fully– 100%. There could be a little underhandedness afoot. Crystals– clear quartz point crystals come to mind…either you have them and like them, or you need to get some, either way, their energy is calling to you. I see a figure on the other side of the crystal in my mind, a shadowy figure– I’m not sure if this figure is you, or if it is a female figure that has passed that is somehow trying to connect with you.
When any of the cup cards come up reversed, it signifies some sort of loss to me, that along with the unusual news you will be receiving…this could just be pertaining to a relationship loss of some kind (and it quite literally could mean someone physically moving away, this has come up in readings before), but it could also be referring to the actual passing of someone that you know (and before you get all anxious and everything, because I hate when things like this come up and I often keep mum, but just know that sometimes I get these feelings where animals and pets are concerned).
If anyone in your family is seriously ill, and you have the sudden urge to go and visit them, do so, without hesitation…If you have the sudden urge to visit anyone, follow through on it. I’ve found, from personal experience, that there’s often a reason unknown to us, a reason that we’re suppose to see and connect with his individual.
Cleansing…cleanse your personal space (both physically, just because in clearing out dust and debris, you are unwittingly clearing out lots of nasty energy type thingys, and cleanse your personal space spiritually– using incense, either sandalwood or sage, white candles, and salted water with which you can asperge (sprinkle) various rooms of the house– and don’t forget cubbies, closets, any small spaces.
January (2014)
Strength…8/cups ®…Prince/stones ®
The beginning of the new year might be off to a slightly shaky start, as far as money goes, though this Prince is one of the most stable, even when standing on his head, so this will all get worked out. It will just take a bit of time and a little effort. Who’s leaving?…or who left and changed their mind? Someone who left your circle of friends will return, and this could include family, friend, or partner– not sure on this one; I just know that someone has a change of heart and decides to return– uh-oh, could this possibly be job related? (It‘s a possibility– things like this tend to pop into my head just when I‘m ready to go on to the next set of cards.) Though you may feel a little distressed this month, you can pull it off okay– you’re a strong gal, and you have the capability of handling a lot on your plate at one time. It’s a busy flurry-scurry hurry up and straighten out time. Smile!
Also…the serpent: wisdom, the goddess (the apple and the snake– don’t let them fool you…as I suspect you already know, the apple is the fruit of the goddess, and the serpent is representative of her knowledge and wisdom); sexuality, an open honest expression of such and a healthy appetite (I could be less demure and discreet and say, “Hang onto your hat, girl.”…but I would never do that J)
That eight of cups nags at me– coming and going, going and coming– leaving and coming back. Hopefully, by the time this month rolls around, you will know exactly what (and who) this is referring to.
February
7/wands…Ace/wands ®…Death ®
The month of February will be marked by a radical change. Since the Ace of wands showed up for this occasion, it should traditionally point to changes in finance or business, and it very well may; but that’s not necessarily the feeling that I’m getting– I’m thinking more along the lines of relationships, your feelings, your emotions, even your inner connection with the Divine. Big change. You will find within yourself the courage you need to handle the changes in your life now with calm and courage.
Also…the idea of putting up a barrier, figuratively speaking; contemplation and quiet, meditation, and the sea shore; seashells and the ocean; passion– physical passion, passion for ideas and plans; the raven– occult mysteries, magick, paranormal; water, or waterways, a boat; passage or initiation of some kind.
March
Justice…3/swords…Queen/stones ®
March may be a month of sorrows, personal sorrow, as well as quiet introspection. The three of swords is a stickler, it is; it points to heartache or heartbreak of some sort. Justice or karma of some kind may be met this month, but these issues are seldom what we expect them to be, and we’re often disappointed that the justice wasn’t enough, or the karma didn’t come sooner. And with this Queen, who represents the ‘mother’ aspect, either of someone around us, or within us, I am always leery when she’s standing on her head. It usually means the ‘loss’ of something– either the actual loss of our mother, empty-nest syndrome, the loss of a pregnancy, or the onset of menopause. It holds the transitory quality that encompasses women’s lives.
Also…the idea of ‘self’, of a healthy ego, the idea of pride in yourself– in your accomplishments, as well as other aspects of ‘you’– all good things; the scales of justice– this almost always pops into my head with the major arcana card that came up, I’m hoping that you don’t have any legal issues in the works at this time, but be prepared for this, because sometimes that’s exactly what “Justice” is pointing to. And then there’s Libra– it sort of goes with the scales, huh, but also the attributes– love of beauty and peace, the hopeless romantic, the mediator. A tear, a single tear; the number ’3’– symbol of the triple god and goddess, the triad, ‘father/son/holy ghost’, in Wiccan spell casting– by the power of 3 times 3; body, mind, & spirit…three; the sacred spiral– there’s a lot spiritual energy coming through this set of cards; I do believe that you are going to find March to be a month of spiritual awakening, big time.
In Haindl’s deck, on the card “Queen of Stones” is depicted “Spider Woman”…also known as “Grandmother Spider”…a great wise-woman; creator of the universe, casting her dew-covered web into the sky to create the stars. This entity has significance for you, especially this month, watch for her; watch for her as images of spiders that show up unexpectedly– on the tv, in a newspaper ad, things of this nature– pay attention to the actual creature, should you come upon it…what comes into your mind? Where did you see it? What were you doing?
April
6/swords…Queen/wands…5/stones
Separation, movement, as the six of swords is traditionally the ‘divorce card’, but separation can encompass so many things, and I hate being negative, preferring to look on the bright side of things– and this card is also traditionally the ‘you’ll be traveling over water’ card, which sounds really tiresome and gypsy’ish when you hear it over and over, but it so often turns out to be prophetically true. (Water, waterways, and the such seem to come up quite often for you in this reading.) This Queen, my goodness…she may be you (genteel, well-organized, neat and tidy, and likes her world this way as well. She also likes being in control…let me rephrase that, she *Needs* to be in control, if she’s not the world will know it– (you?). If it’s yourself this Queen is showing me, no problems, if it’s another individual in your world, then you might have a few issues to work through, because her sense of control may be affecting you in a negative manner. The last card here, the five of stones (pentacles in more traditional decks) depicts a tight money issue, financial stumbling blocks– but the up factor here is that this card is reversed, meaning this bump in the road is going to be short lived, just that– a small glitch. I like when all three cards come together with one message, but that is not the case this time– I’m not able to see the link here, but I’m betting that you most certainly will.
Also…someone in the background of all these goings on this month, a shadowy figure, I’m thinking male, and as he fades to the background, so does his importance and his influence. The idea of pricking your finger on a needle– don’t know where this is coming from, unless you sew, or unless you’re getting blood drawn this month for lab work. The idea of a dominant female– very dominant (you or the Queen?…or you *Are* the Queen J); an aloofness, as though you are deliberately disassociating yourself with someone, but the disconnect is not quite complete.
The Queen of Wands is depicted in this deck as Kali (or Kali Ma), a kick ass goddess. This goddess is loaded with wild-woman devil-may-care energy, and she’s one of the goddess’s that I’m writing about in my next book. She is a vengeful warrior goddess, and it’s this type of energy (and entity) you call upon when you need to stand up on your hind legs and howl, protecting yourself without any qualms of guilt. Keep her in mind.
May
Princess/wands…4/wands…6/cups
You are reunited (or just plain united) with someone from your past this month in a celebratory way (wedding, family reunion, some sort of group gathering). Messages concerning financial or business issues may be coming through– or this card, the Princess of Wands– brings an energy or a particular person you will come in contact with during the month of May…she’s a tough little thing, knows her own mind, but tends to be moody (especially if she’s overly tired, or she’s hungry– hang onto your hat). A younger female individual comes to mind and her (and her energy) are very robust, industrious, and rather invigorating– this may actually be the theme for this month, so if you find yourself racing around at 100 mph accomplishing all sorts of things you didn’t think you’d get done, you’ll know where it’s coming from (the Princess of Wands).
Also…a ring, or a favorite ring, or a ring you haven’t yet purchased or received, or a ring that‘s special to you in some way– oh, I see it on the left hand, but I don’t want to attribute it to that “special” kind of ring, because all of us wear rings on both hands (but that definitely popped into my head). The third eye chakra– pay attention to your intuition, and also, perhaps this chakra needs some working on, and you’ll find more information on the chakras at my website: click HERE. If this chakra is out of balance, you have a tendency, for one thing, to look at everything through a really logical train of thought, and your ability to be in tune with that little voice in your head that works on intuition and gut feeling is pushed to the wayside, and sometimes we just can’t afford to shut that little voice out.
The idea of a sword and a shield– the warrior, strength, being able to stand up for yourself, courage, nobility, believing that you should take a certain stance or action for ‘the principle of the thing’. Sometimes, even when it’s not to our ultimate benefit, we just have to do something that we know is the right thing to do, just cause we do– not everyone understands this. “The Perfectionist”…if this is you, let it go, which is so easy for someone to say, because you probably can’t just let it go, it’s ingrained, it’s part of the very basic thing that is ‘you’; if this is an individual in your life, this Perfectionist, realize this about them– they can’t help it, any more than they can help having brown eyes, or dimples, it’s in their makeup.
A bubble, the kind we used to blow as kids from those little plastic bottles and wands, and with it the idea of something ethereal, transitory, something beautiful but fleeting. The element of water, which is also tied in with intuition, psychism, your dreams (and nightmares), as well as spirit and goddess connection.
The month of May might be magickal.
June
Ace/stones…9/wands…10/cups
Get the ball rolling. Get a move on with whatever plans you have in mind. Get it done– now’s the time. June appears to be a power month for you; you’re standing on solid ground, a firm foundation, you have the upper hand in a situation or relationship, run with it, don’t miss this opportunity. In the end…success. You’ll get what you desired, you’ll get what you’ve worked for, all the puzzle pieces will fall into place for you.
Also…rainbows– I think they came up earlier (symbolizing lots of things besides a pot of gold…happiness, ‘crossing-over’ (on many levels, not the way it’s usually thought of, but crossing over to new understandings within yourself, new understandings with other individuals, finding yourself on a new spiritual level, that sort of thing). A totem animal– the vulture–symbolizes death/rebirth, new vision…and I’ve heard that this totem is a life-time thing, once it’s entered your life it will be with you always, even into other lifetimes.
Rite of Passage, through fire, no less– fire is purifying, cleansing, it sweeps the slate clean so that we can begin again, it gives us a second chance. (I also believe that ‘fire’ appeared earlier– and I don’t want to alarm you, but that practical side of my mind is always intruding, and it wants me to tell you to be cautious about fire– the regular mundane kind– in general.) The idea of a sponge– ‘soak up’ …knowledge, information, anything of this nature which comes your way that you can literally ‘absorb’.
July
2/wands…2/swords…6/wands
July encompasses partnerships, decisions, stalemates (both sides stubborn?); it’s all about working to get your way in the end, working towards something you want, or the way you want something. It’s a kind of ‘stick to your guns’ energy that will dominate. May the strongest party win– and hopefully, this will be you.
Also…maple trees, and the idea that the coming autumn will prove to be significant to you in some way, perhaps that’s when the decisions made this month will come into play, when the plans laid this summer will unfold. Entering uncharted waters, trying something new, and along with this that feels figurative, also comes the impression that you will literally be entering a building for the first time– somewhere new to you, somewhere you’ve never been– the logical voice in my head is saying (apartment building), the illogical voice is whispering “ancient sites, runes, old castles, time-worn stone steps, artifacts, ancient sculpture or pottery, medieval– or even older“. It’s this little whispery voice that always gets me into trouble, but perhaps you have some sort of connection to this type of thing which I am unaware of.
As autumn was highlighted, so is the coming winter, perhaps a time of great decision for you, once more. It’s funny how ‘time’ is irrelevant or transitory. Time comes to me with tarot as seasons, and though this set of cards is meant to deal with a particular month, a particular time-frame, it is actually reaching, with ghostly otherworld fingers, into the future, the coming winter. I do believe that you must be very cautious with the decisions that you make this month, in July, because you will be living with the consequences of these decisions for months to come. What you decide this month, right now, will affect your future; and I do believe that the decision will be yours.
August
9/swords…The Fool…4/stones
So, July is past, and the decision is made…now begins the consequences, starting with anxiety (we always second-guess ourselves, even when we feel absolutely 100% sure that our decision was the right one, and even if it is), issues sleeping (insomnia, troubled sleep, perhaps nightmares– brought on by the extra pressure, the anxiety) can sometimes come up. The idea that you are going to be beginning a new journey, perhaps literally– actually moving, relocating; or figuratively, as taking a different path in some aspect of your life (this also adds to your sense of anxiety). There is a sense of financial pressure this month, having to tighten the purse strings, penny-pinching, but this may also be because finances might be very important to the decision that you made in July, they’re connected, and as right as you feel you are, as excited even as you might be about all of the upcoming events, that does not mean that it’s not a time of anxiety and second-guessing yourself. Learn to be confident in your decisions, in your ability to handle change, be confident in ‘you’.
Also…a bird, a long-necked white bird, in peril of having it’s throat slashed (as is how birds are slaughtered)– this sounds so macabre, but it’s not really, it’s saying– ‘don’t burn all your bridges behind you, don’t cut off your nose to spite your face, leave options open, don’t permanently slam doors behind you’. (Something to keep in mind.) The other cards also– long necked white birds (Geese? Swans?) This is probably manifesting as some sort of totem animal…
Goose: communication, the written word, fertility, marital fidelity, the goose was a totem animal to American Indians, it’s images used during the celebration of the Winter Solstice. Swan: altered states of awareness, beauty (a new realization of your own), development of intuitive abilities, healing, and transformation.

Deck: Celtic Druid Tarot
The High Priestess (R)
Someone is draining you of your energy right now. (This priestess is standing on her head.) You might find yourself in some sort of crazy balancing act, trying to juggle various aspects of your life all at the same time. Someone (or “someones”– meaning more than one individual) is sapping you by making constant demands, demands of your time, your energy, your usually laid back personality. You’re going to have to put that dainty foot down and put a grinding stop to this, before you lose all your strength, all your power, and any other advantages you might still have.
Also…if you’ve lost a cat (or dog, etc), you’re going to find this animal very soon– they didn’t go as far as you think they did, wiley little creatures; your best time to perform a ritual or to cast a spell in the near future will be during the waxing moon– apparently you’re trying to bring something into your life, don’t waste this energy; to someone out there– don’t be afraid to touch the book, open it up, read and learn, it’s not going to bite; there is the idea of someone caught between a rock and a hard place– look within, you’re smarter, craftier, and more durable than you think you are, there is a way out, you just might have to get uncharacteristically tough to follow it; to all women everywhere– Embrace the Goddess within, don’t be afraid of the power you find and feel there, it’s your heritage, it’s your birthright, run with it…

Tarot Card of the Day Deck: The Goddess Tarot, Princess/swords ® The lesson for today– suck it up, tuck it in, and soften those sharp edges. Too many nasty words, lies, gossip, or all three have been flying around too much lately; it’s time to tone this type of destructive behavior down and reopen new channels of communication.
