As far as crystals are concerned, I’m not sure what you’re talking about. All that I recall having up, as far as crystals go, are some crystal pendulums; though I have a big website, and I’ve been busy writing and with other projects, so I haven’t updated my online shops for quite a while. 3) Hi! I would like to order a spell from you. Just in case asking is it possible. I would like to get a healing spell. I’m so glad to hear that you’re continuing with solid mundane Medical Care. This is so important, and I can’t emphasize it enough, whether you’re going to incorporate magickal spells or any other form of holistic healing into your regimen– don’t stop seeing your medical doctor, and don’t stop taking prescribed medications.

I knew that there was something ‘different’ about me before I was old enough to know that there was a name for it. One of the earliest magickal experiences that I remember took place when I was about four years old, hidden in the cool shade of a grove of trees on a terraced hillside at my grandmother’s farm.
The day was very hot, but beneath the canopy created by the large grove of trees that covered the hillside, it was very cool; and I squatted on one of the wide terraced ‘steps’, beneath a tree that had small round leaves lining it’s branches. I took hold of one of the small new twigs at the base of the tree; and I slid my hand along it’s length, filling my palm with the cool green leaves.
As my head was bent and I was examining these leaves, I heard a noise. I looked to my right, through the fence lining this edge of the grove, into the world of brilliant hot sunshine, to see a large white cow grazing in the field beside me, only a few feet away.
The wind came then, through the tops of the trees. I froze as I listened to it, the roar starting at the opposite end of the grove and working it’s way through the tree tops towards me, till it was directly overhead. I realized that this wind sounded like voices, voices that seemed to come directly from the trees.
It was then that a realization dawned on me, leaving an indelible print so strong that this memory is still starkly vivid to me fifty years later. It was a realization that I was too young to form into words…but I knew.

I’m working on my December newsletter, and this newsletter will be my last one. Because of other writing obligations, I’ll be discontinuing The Witch’s Corner newsletters indefinitely. This blog has become so successful (Magickal Connections), that I will be using this spot for updates, stories, inspiration, networking, promoting, and otherwise shooting the breeze. The links to all my newsletters, including the older archives, can be found in the sidebar (right side) on the home-page of The Witch’s Corner. Churning out newsletters on a regular basis, first monthly and later on quarterly, has been an experience in determination and perseverance!
For anyone who might not have heard the news, my next book is on the way! “The Gray Witch’s Grimore” was accepted for publication by Moon Books, an imprint of John Hunt Publishing. Production is expected to take approximately six months. I’ll be posting updates, including cover art and release dates, as this information becomes available. I’m thrilled!– this project is one that is close to my heart. It is, in essence, my own brand of magickal practice.

This gorgeous set of pendulums is available at my website– click Here. I find this set of pendulums perfect for chakra balancing. They feel wonderfully trembling and ‘alive’ in your hands. Each pendulum is unique to a particular chakra, through both the stone used and the symbol engraved on each stone. After I received this set of pendulums in the mail and realized how much I like them, I decided that I’d have to have a set for myself– and you have no idea how often this happens for me!

Tarot Card of the Day: Ace of Cups…reversed. This card, when appearing in this manner, let’s me know that a relationship or friendship has ended. It is ironic that this card has showed up at this time, but not surprising. The universe, the All, or whatever spirits or energies work through these cards, always seems to be in tune with me and my life. Someone has left my circle, through their own desire, through mine, through fate, through a series of synchronistic events, however it happened, the bottom line is that they are no longer a part of my life, and I assumed that they would be for decades t
o come. It just goes to show that nothing in this world can be counted on as permanent, because life is a series of continuous transitions. As the old saying goes, “When one door closes, another shall open”, and this is true. It also brings to mind the magickal rule– when a space is emptied, it creates a vacuum, and the vacuum will not stay empty, it will be filled. And this is also true. It’s best to remember that people often come into our lives for a season, at a time that we are meant to connect with them to share and learn and grow. But there might come a point when it’s time to move on, when the lessons are learned and all that’s meant to be shared has been. It is a natural progression of the seasons.
I have been thinking about giving local tarot readings by appointment only. The main issue I have here is that I’m not sure I would want to open my home up to total strangers. The fix to this issue would seem to be simple– find another venue. I was thinking that I could simply meet a client for coffee somewhere, but I’m not sure that just any establishment would allow a customer to spread tarot cards on the table and give readings– although personally I would consider this a private conversation between two individuals, not every restaurant or coffee shop owner might look at it this way. I have a couple of people that I have to talk to, owners of coffee spots here in town, and I’m going to see how they would feel about having a tarot reader and a client enjoying a cup of coffee at their establishment. If I find the ideal spot to hold tarot pow-wows, you’ll see my advertisement in the local paper. Stay tuned.
Dreams…I only remember a snippet: I’m on the phone, talking to someone on the east coast from the Scifi program, TAPS. In my dream I’ve been invited to be a guest on the program for an episode. The thing is that I will have to fly on a commercial aircraft in order to be there on time for taping. I actually felt the sinking feeling in my stomach at this thought– even though I was only dreaming. The last part of this dream that I remember, I am reluctantly asking someone over the phone, “Isn’t there any other way to get there?”
And this is what happens when you watch a whole day of TAPS reruns on Scifi.
I’ve received an increased number of phone calls from people this week with questions, requests, and all kinds of things. I have to say that most of you must have paid attention to those ‘guidelines’ for contacting me, which I posted to this blog. Almost everyone identified themselves, and they were all very polite, and no one called at the crack of dawn or at the witching hour…thank you!

I went solo this past Saturday and sat up a yardsale which I dubbed, The Garden Boutique. I’ve done this several times with a good friend, setting up tables filled with metaphysical supplies to delight the stoutest pagan: pendulums, magickal oils and potions, spell candles, kits and bags filled with supplies to bless a home or to cast a spell, as well as enchanted jewelry, arts & crafts, and other unique creations that defy description. This time I had only my girls to help watch tables and merchandise while I gave tarot readings and balanced chakras. It was a bit of a juggle sometimes, but we managed.
We live in a rather ‘out-of-the-way’ location, and I’m never sure how our turnout will be at these events, since we’re a bit difficult for some people to find. But contrary to my expectations, we had a great day which included an afternoon rush and a few return visitors. And the girls and I noticed that this time we were not hounded by Christians trying to convince us that we were headed down an evil path. Our customers were politely curious, inquisitive, and some even eager to learn, asking questions and getting up close and personal with the poppets and pendulums.
I was up at 5am, just as I had planned, and was out in the garage digging out tables, shelves, and chairs. However, when I actually started getting things arranged I realized– wait a minute, it’s too dark. And it sure was, pitch dark. Even with the garage lights on, it was too dark to stock the shelves. With daylight came some soft showers with cool refreshing temperatures. Since there was no wind at this time, I dodged the rain by placing all the tables and merchandise beneath the overhang on our house.
This is a family endeavor and everyone likes to create something to add to the inventory. My eleven-year-old daughter spent the day before the sale making bags with fabric paint, glue, and glitter. Several days ago, she had spent just as much time painting large clear stones to create pretty magnets. It was fun watching her during the creative process, head bent low over her work, quiet and intent.
My 24-year-old daughter is the ‘Isabella’ in “Creations by Isabella”. She’s a graphic artist, tattoo artist, and talented jewelry maker. She added some of her creations to our Garden Boutique. I’m very excited for her and her atistic career– She will be selling her designs for stamps and scrapbooking paper to a national company. As soon as I’m allowed to post more information, I will.
I stocked the table and shelves with a variety of items from my website, The Witch’s Corner. Setting up these boutique yardsales is actually a lot of fun, no matter how many trips in and out, up and down the stairs it takes. (Tearing it all down is another matter!)
I usually try to have a few copies of my book on hand, along with plenty of business cards, and it’s always fun to watch people explore this table. It’s a satisfying feeling to send someone on their way with a copy of my book in their hand.
We have a covered back porch with a partial west wall, an east wall of bamboo blinds, and our south yard is blocked by the trees, so this is a pretty private area, and this is where I sat up my massage table and a powerful crystal grid to do Chakra Balancing. It was perfect. I had a water fountain running back here. It was peaceful, protected, and inviting.
The opposite end of the back porch was reserved for tarot readings…I just had to shoo sleeping kitties away!
I always have a small table set up for my CD player and some favorite new-age music. And I always have a small notepad and pen available. Customers are invited to add a prayer request or wish to the bowl. We have a little tradition at the end of our boutique yardsales– after everything is put away, I’ll bring out my big black cauldron, and we’ll burn these requests in a sacred flame.
This is the perfect way to end the day.
