Tarot Magick…The Queens’ Oils

Coming Soon!

I’ve decided to capture the essence of the Queens found in the tarot, to use their energy to create natural magickal oils that will enhance a variety of areas of life connected to the energy and the elements which are in turn connected to the Queens:

Queen of Pentacle Oil

This Queen is tied to the element of Earth. In her oil you’ll find the musky herb of patchouli, as well as other herbs grounded to this element. Use a touch of Queen of Pentacle Oil on a green candle, a dab on your paper money or your debit card, or carry a stone of aventurine annointed with her oil to enhance the energy for wealth and prosperity.

The Pentacles Queen: She’s solid and grounded, down to earth and strong. It’s this Queen people seek out for security and assurance, and it’s this energy that you’ll find in her oil.

Queen of Swords Oil

The element of Air touches this Queen, and with it will be herbs that enhance communication and unleash the muses of creativity. Use this Queen’s oil on yellow candles, your favorite pen or paintbrush, a much used journal. Put a dab on a clear quartz crystal and keep it near your computer, enhancing the flow of words and communication in this area.

The Swords Queen: This lady is fluent in speech and quick of wit. She thinks fast on her feet, is immersed in quiet and intense energy that embraces intelligent thought and deductions. Her energy, and her oil, are conducive to no-nonsense practicality and uneffected strength.

Queen of Wands Oil

This fiery Queen is connected to the energy of Fire, and her oil is not for the feint of heart. Use a touch of the Queen of Wands oil when you need no nonsense in-charge energy. This oil also enhances the energy for positive outcomes in business and financial ventures. Place a dab of this oil on contracts you’re going to sign, or a pen you’re going to use to sign a business contract.

The Wands Queen: Passion is her center. It’s what drives ambition and the need to succeed. This is a ‘hot’ oil in more ways than one. Passions are unleashed with the Queen of Fire, and that is the unabashed energy found in her oil.

Queen of Cups Oil

The essence of this Queen and her element, water, is one that inspires dreams, visions, and psychic awareness. You will want to use a touch of this Queen’s oils on blue candles to enhance psychic awareness and sharpen clairvoyant, clairsentient, and clairaudio gifts. Put a dab of Queen of Cups oil on a lace handkerchief and place it beneath your pillow to inspire prophetic dreams.

The Cups Queen: This is a gentle Queen, the Queen who hangs on the edge of mystic dreams and surreal insight. Her energy is soft and dreamy, ethereal, and magickal. It’s her persona and mystique you’ll seek to reveal magickal secrets, entities, and energies.

Litha: Summer Solstice

Another Summer Solstice is almost upon us. This is a quiet holiday at our house. When my son was a little boy, he used to like to stay up through the ‘witching hour’ and watch for fairies. He’d get comfy in his pj’s and robe; I’d gather up a lawn chair and place it beneath the large apple tree in our yard; and I’d prepare a special candle, placing it in a cauldron along with some herbs to offer the fairies. It was his time to sit quietly outside in the dark and watch for fairies, the only light being that of the candle.

Most of the time, these evenings were uneventful, but one Mid-Summer’s Eve, my son’s patience was rewarded.

From across the lawn, he saw what he said looked like three very small blue lights dancing along the top of the fence. Eventually these three tiny lights dropped from the fence to the lawn beneath, where they bounced around in the grass for several seconds, and then they disappeared. My son came back to the house breathless and wide-eyed to tell me what he had seen.

The next morning, we went out to investigate the grass where the lights had been. Overnight, three mushrooms had popped up to create a perfectly formed triangle in this area, and the grass in the middle of this formation was whithered and yellowed.

I can’t tell you with 100% accuracy whether what my son saw were fairies or not, but that really doesn’t matter. All that really matters is that one little boy had a very magickal and memorable night.

At my website, you’ll find more information on Pagan holidays, including rituals and videoes. I have this link set to take you directly to “Wheel Of the Year”:

The Witch’s Corner

On Mid-Summer’s Eve, 1980, my step-grandfather died after enduring a long and tortorous bout with throat cancer. I’ve always thought that perhaps, when people pass on this magickal date, the fairies that are about will help these souls cross into the Summerland.

Following are correspondences for the month of June, including correspondences and other information for the pagan holiday of Litha. This information is an excerpt from my books, “The Gray Witch’s Grimoire” & “The Book of Magick”, and is copyrighted material.

Pagan Holiday

Summer Solstice/Litha

June 21

This is the longest period of daylight in the year, a time of magick, fairies, and the immortalized Mid-Summer’s Eve. Fairy contact is generally easier to achieve on this day, for those of you who are brave enough to invoke the mischievous little folk, that is. But don’t be surprised if soon after you can’t find your favorite earrings, or the car keys, or any other shiny inviting objects you may have left laying around.

This is a popular month for weddings, though few in the Christianized world realize why…The Druid’s celebrated the Summer Solstice as the ‘marriage between heaven & earth’, and thus the popular belief that June is a ‘lucky’ month for marriage ceremonies.

There will be Pagan spirit gatherings all around the world at this time, the most famous and the most notable at Stone Henge, where large groups of people will light bonfires and stay up all night in order to welcome the dawn.

Herbs:

fennel, lavender, chamomile, cinquefoil, mugwort, thyme

Altar Flowers/Herbs:

larkspur, rose, wisteria, St. Johns Wort

Feast Foods:

apples, citrus, fruits, ale, mead, honey cakes

Animals:

butterflies, frogs, toads, wrens

Incense:

ylang ylang, thyme, rose, sandalwood, chamomile

Rituals/Spells:

all night fairy vigils, candle magick, dream work, familiar blessings, herb gathering, self-dedication, sun magick

 Crafting Your Magick:

Fairy magic will be powerful and their presence could herald both the mystical and the mischievous. Work on magic now that clarifies communication and highlights the element of Air. Use magic of the wee folk to tap into the fairy realms. Magic now is all about movement– movement of ideas, creations, people, and places. This is the perfect time to cast spells of transformation, spells to increase/decrease, to banish/manifest. Think about where it is you want to be, either from a mental or physical perspective, and cast the magic needed to move you along to this destination.

The solar plexus is the chakras to focus on. Learn to assert yourself, or to tone down an overbearing attitude. And which energy applies to you? If you don’t know, I’ll bet the people around you do.

Magickal Connections:  Spell Bags
http://ladyamythyst.webs.com/spellbags.htm

Mojo Bags

Following is an instructional video on spell bags
featuring Lady Amythyst Raine:

Magickal Connections: Spell Bag Instructions

Mojo Bags

At my online shop, found at my website, I offer a variety of spell bags– bags filled with the items that you need to cast specific spells. The ones I offer include: Make Him Love Me; Money Flow; Make Him Go; Shut Your Mouth.

I’ve had several people order these spell bags and then email me, unsure as to what exactly they should do with the magickal items enclosed, so I’ve decided to post some instructions. Later I may even make small instructional videos, but I like taping these videos outdoors better than anywhere else, so the weather is going to have to warm up.

The following instructions are pretty basic and will be used with any of the spell bags.

First, let’s look at the items included in these bags:  1 small taper candle, 1 bottle of magickal oil, 1 small bag of herbs, 3 incense cones, a stone, and a small porcelain candle holder*  (*not shown).

After you’ve situated yourself in a comfortable spot to work– some of you casting a circle to work in, and other’s probably opting not to do this– go ahead and light one of the incense cones.

If the herbs enclosed  are not all powdered, but include leaves and whole blossoms or petals, you’ll want to begin by crushing or pulverizing them.  I use a mortar and pestle for this, but if you don’t have a mortar and pestle, crush them up with your fingers.  If the herbs are a bit coarser than herbs ground with a mortar and pestle, that’s okay.

Next, shake up your bottle of magickal oil and open it.  You’re going to dress (anoint) your candle with the oil and then roll it in the crushed herbs.  Tip the bottle up and get some oil on your fingertips.   If you’re working magick to draw something to you, you will hold the candle in one hand while you stroke the oil onto the candle in gentle sweeping motions towards your body.  If you’re working magick to send something away, you will hold the candle in one hand while you stroke the oil on the candle in gentle sweeping motions away from your body.

After the candle is oiled, have the herbs sprinkled out on the surface you’re working on in a long pile.  Put the candle on it’s side and roll it through the herbs, several times if need be, until all or most of the herbs adhere to the candle.  Place the candle in the candle holder.

Keeping your intentions in mind, light the spell candle.  Allow the candle to burn down.  Make sure not to leave it unattended and to keep all flammable materials out of reach of the flame.

Once this candle has burned down and the wax has cooled, you can use the large bag all of these ingredients came in to make a mojo bag.  To this bag you will add the remains of the candle wax and any of the herbs which might be left over, the stone, as well as personal items/effects that will make this magick more individualized and add to the energy of your spell.  These items could include hair, fingernails, or a photo of your target, a name paper, a small slip of paper upon which you’ve written affirmations, an item belonging to the target– such as a button, an earring, etc.

Keep this bag in a safe and secret place, giving the magickal energy time to build and work.

Magick for the Day

Saturday…Planet/Saturn:  ambition, structure, realism, self-preservation (this can get sticky, falling within gray magick), business, self-control, the dark side, retribution/revenge, the untamed spiritual side; Colors/black, gray, deep navy blue; Herbs/black poppy seeds, myrrh, pepper, wormwood, henbane, hellebore, hemlock, witch grass; Number/8; Letters/H, Q, Z; Stones/apache tear, obsidian, onyx, tourmaline (black), hematite, jet

Save Saturday as the day to pull magickal punches where they’re needed, whether someone or something needs banishing or just a hard slap on the wrist.  Straighten out the gossip, zip the liar’s lips, knock jealousy out the window, get the bad guy– track him down with your magickal guns.  Protection magick is a highpoint for this day and these correspondences.  For me the magickal cry for Saturday is, "Batten down the hatches and get out of my way if you’re smart."  Saturday wreaks of no nonsense magick, isn’t for the sissies, and inspires good behavior by using some magickal muscle.

Tarot card of the day:
Knight of Cups

This knight heralds romantic activities and, with the influence of Saturn, this will be more like Heathcliffe and Catherine– without the pristine happy endings of a Disney fairytale.  The sex will be wild, unbridled, and somewhat dangerous; the fights will be rampaging with make-up sex that will take your breath away.  Romantic relationships begun at this point will be so up and down, so tumultuous, that it may not be intended to last forever– the intensity would be too much.  Take what you will from this encounter, learn and grow, enjoy the good parts, survive the bad…and move on to calmer waters, smoother encounters.

A Unique Lesson in Spite

I’m going to post a very personal story today, going public with a very unique experience.  It involves a neighbor lady whom I’ve lived a couple doors down from for over 14 years.  This woman and I have never  ‘neighbored’.  For some reason, which I cannot fathom, she has chosen to dislike us…the ‘us’ being myself, my six children, and my husband– I was divorced and remarried during the course of my time in this neighborhood.  The only  conversation I’ve had with “M.M.” was when we had an issue with her son breaking off a limb from one of our trees. During the course of this entire discussion, this woman insisted on continuously referring to my new husband as “the gentleman who lives at your house”.  Her children and mine, just for the record, have also never friended each other.  Her son did take me back one day, when I was in the front yard, with an unexpected question:  “My mom wants to know why you don’t have a real job.”— I’ve been a stay-at-home homeschooling mother for about 20 years now, whereas this woman is very career oriented.  I gather that she doesn’t approve of my lifestyle.

Anyway, this pretty much sets the stage and gives some explanation for 14 years of aloofness, glaring stares, and really inexcusable behavior that me and my family have put up with.

Flash forward to the present time:

“M. M.” ordered a pizza from Papa Murphy’s Pizza here in town.  A girl named Katlyn took her order over the phone.  This woman arrives at Papa Murphy’s to pick up her pizzas.  The order slip had been lost, thus her order was not ready.  Another employee, my 17 year old daughter, took things in hand and made up this lady’s pizzas.  “M. M.” had to wait about 15 minutes.

When my daughter went to work the next day, the manager called her into the office.  “I think this is about you,” he said. The company had received a very negative reveiw about the lost order the night before, with very derogatory things said about my daughter– who is a new employee at this shop.  My daughter went on to explain the situation between our families, and she described this woman’s behavior to the manager.

The scenario became even more interesting when the manager discovered that this woman’s 17 year old daughter, “P. M.”,  had left a negative reveiew some time before about another Papa Murphy’s employee– a young woman who just happened to be dating “P. M.’s” old boyfriend, and with whom “P. M.” had an altercation.

I find it incredible that the women in this family would use a business reveiw board as a means of satisfying a personal vendetta.  I’m not as surprised at her daughter’s backstabbing, because it sounds like a petty immature teenage thing to do, especially when a boy was the topic.  I am, however, very taken aback that a supposedly mature business woman would take out her angst on a seventeen year old girl who did nothing but make up her pizzas.  It has sinced dawned on me that this was not only an attack on my daughter; it was the passive/aggessive action of a very insecure person.  My grandmother would call it a ‘mean streak’.

I was mulling over this incident in my mind as I was working on my second book– a book of magick for the gray witch– and I came up with a delicious little spell to use when “Spite” rears it’s ugly head.  I included this spell in my December newsletter, and I’m going to share it with you as well.  If you find yourself the victim of people with a spiteful mean ugly mentality, don’t give up, cast this spell instead.

Little does this woman know that she was my inspiration!  It’s good to be a witch. 🙂

To Spite Your Face

One of the most frustrating foes to deal with is a person who is jealous and spiteful. This spell will deal with their energy, while most importantly, it will protect you from the fallout of their actions and their spitefulness.

Items needed:

1. A cauldron with a nice little pile of burning herbs (slippery elm and sage would be nice, but sage will do), creating a respectable sized flame– you might want to use a small charcoal tablet also, just to keep things going

2. A black votive candle

3. A photo of the target– if this is not available, their signature or a name paper will have to do

4. A red flannel bag

5. Three blossoms from a thorny plant, preferably a thistle; or three thorns– which are just as effective

Carve the target’s name on the black spell candle, and sit it on your altar, near your cauldron. Light it– with glee and delight, knowing that you are lighting a flame beneath your enemy’s ass.

You will take their photo and, with the focused emotions you feel at this person and their actions, you will mark it, slash it, spit on it, stomp on it…or do something else even more dastardly to it, all the while maintaining the focus and intent of your actions. It’s imperative that you do not loose sight of your intentions.

Burn this image in your cauldron, amidst the herbs and flames.

When the fire has burned down, the black candle has burned itself out and everything has cooled down– except your emotions and will– deposit the ashes and remnants of the spell into the red flannel bag.

Then add the three blossoms or thorns to the bag, one at a time.

With the first blossom/thorn, say:

“The first I add to freeze your speech.”

With the second blossom/thorn, say:

“The second I add to halt your reach.”

With the third blossom/thorn, say:

“The third I add to spite your face,

That you may wallow in disgrace.”

Keep this bag in a safe and secret place, allowing the magic time to mature and ripen, that the target will feel the full effects.

Binding a Gossip

Most of you reading this has, at one time or another, been the victim of malicious and false rumors, innuendos, or flat out bald face lies. This phenomena used to be contained to the narrow crowded hallways of junior and senior high schools, the quiet corridors of office buildings, the loud backrooms of break-rooms, local neighborhood cafes and bars…etc. With the advent of the internet, instant communication, and access that was previously unheard of, this interesting little social oddity is becoming more prevalent than ever, easier to manipulate, to spread, and much more destructive because of the wider audience and the hit and run methods available to anyone with a computer, cell-phone, etc. However, even in the 21st century, gossip still travels the old fashioned way: by word of mouth.

And what makes gossip so popular is our naïve desire to believe what we hear, regardless of the source, whether facts check out, whether it makes sense, or even whether it is believable– the more fantastic and incredible the story, in fact, the quicker we are to accept it, or to eagerly pass it along.

There may not be much the mundane victim of gossip can do about it, other than an expensive and time consuming lawsuit perhaps, if the perpetrator of this brouhaha is sullying a public reputation, damaging a business, or causing serious complications in the victim’s life.

But there is something a Witch can do about a gossip.

She can bind the mouth of the one who is spreading untruths & fantastic stories. She can tie their tongue and still their voice. She can throw the negative energy they are generating back upon the perpetrator, where it will fester and putrefy, to destroy the hooligan from the inside out.

A Binding:

I have used the following spells personally, and I can tell you that they worked for me, often in explosive and unpredictable ways which left me open-mouthed and in awe of this magick. Karma has a way of stepping in to handle any injustice of life, and I have no qualms about stepping into the shadows to grab the light and use this energy to kick-ass. This is one of the benefits of being a gray witch.

If you have the magickal ability, control of your energies, determination and purpose, and if you’ve just plain had enough…you’ll find these spells to be just what you need.

For serious situations, use all three of these methods in tandem:

The Mirror:

Purchase a small hand mirror, one large enough for a small picture to fit within its center. Take a photo of the target and cut it out; lay it in the center of the mirror…vent now at the target, let all the negative energy that you feel for this person roil and boil to the surface, spit in his/her face if that is your inclination.

When you have spent yourself expressing your anger…sprinkle over this picture goofer dust, graveyard dirt, banishing powder. You could also add cayenne pepper, or any other herb/ingredient that you have successfully used in the past or that is linked to hexes/curses.

Now, encircle this picture with it’s mound of maliferous ingredients with a circle of salt– sealing the target within.

Find a safe place to keep this charm, perhaps beneath a dresser; and cover it with a bowl if you have pets in the house so that they won’t stumble upon it. Every once in a while, perhaps in conjunction with a waning moon phase, pull the mirror carefully out of its hiding place and re-sprinkle it with a bit of the powders; check the seal of salt and add to it if need be to keep the circle strong…each time you bring it out– throw your emotions at this individual.

The Poppet:

In addition– you can create a crude poppet, pin a photo of the face of the target on the face of the doll. Carefully, slowly, deliberately– stick straight pins through the mouth in a neat little row…unless the perpetrator is especially disgusting and deceitful– in that case, sew the damn mouth shut, using a strand of the target’s own hair if that is a possibility…rant, rave, spit, pound, stomp, rage. Throw your hatred and anger at this figure, then cover it in a black cloth and place it away in a secret spot.

The Witch’s Bottle:

You can also create a witch’s bottle…fill an empty bottle with pins, razor blades, shards of glass, needles, rusty nails– and a photo of the target. Add your urine to it. Close the bottle and seal it with black wax. Put it in a safe place and every once in a while, again with the waning of the moon, bring it out and shake it up— visualize the sharp objects in the bottle slashing at the target and all they represent…the injustice, the deceit, the vulgarity, the lies.

As I’ve said…

I’ve used these spells myself and was quite amazed at how well they work. But the deal is that this is an ‘ongoing’ thing, keep it up. Remember to check the mirror, less the circle of salt somehow get shifted about and create an opening. Don’t let the target sit in the bottle without bothering it now and then. Bring out the poppet, look into the target’s eyes and vent your rage ever so often…don’t let them forget, and don’t let them rest.

The energy will build.

voodoo-dolls-wallpaper.jpg picture by witch_of_endore

*Note:  Although the methods above are aimed at a gossip in this case, these methods will work on anyone who is wreaking havoc in your life in a number of ways– treating you unfairly, deliberately sabatoging your job, your life, your marriage, etc.  This type of magic is not for everyone; it’s not for the squeamish, or for those who hesitate to use the gray side of witchcraft for whatever reasons.

Also, remember that justice and karma walk hand in hand.  If you use this type of magic on an innocent victim for revenge/control, on a target who has been wrongly accused, to gain power over someone for your own benefit or ulterior motives, etc., it will come back round to bite you in a terrific and terrible way.

How Does the Green Witch Incorporate Her Practice Day to Day

There was a question posted today at Pagan Mystics, a Ning network, wanting to know just exactly how a Green Witch incorporates her practice in her day to day life.  Just what would a day in the life of a Green Witch entail, the author wanted to know.  Below you will find my reply:

The Green Witch may begin her day with a pot of tea or coffee, each being laced with an herb or herbs appropriate for her intentions…You’re afraid your husband’s eye is straying, if not your husband himself? A pinch of nutmeg in his morning brew will do well to keep infidelity at bay. You’re going to be doing tarot readings on this morning and want to pump up your intuitive energies? A pinch of crushed bay leaves or a bit of ground anise to your tea or java will do just that.

When you cook up wonderful tasty dishes for your family, you keep this kind of herbal magick in mind. Does your family seem a little chaotic, disconnected, or argumentative today? Drop a pinch of rosemary or sage in the stew or mashed potatoes. The general public uses herbs every day in all kinds of mundane ways when they cook, never realizing the magickal potential contained within them. Oh, and be sure to stir your cooking pots full of food deosil only to instill positive energy.

The Green Witch will use herbs when cleaning her house, or scrubbing her floors…a little rosemary wash will clear your living space in a magickal way as you clean away the mundane dirt and grime. Are you having a little problem with mischievous spirits and it’s time for them to go? Light a white candle and a stick of sage or some sandalwood incense; walk deosil around each room, smudging the area.

Are you a busy soccer mom chauffeuring kids from school to various events and practices? The Green Witch will have within her vehicle a mojo bag for safe travel, within it will be plantain, calamus root, and a stone of tiger eye. If she’s like me, she’ll also have a special stone talisman created specifically to keep her passengers safe, tucked discreetly beneath the seat.

Your child awakens you during the night with bad dreams or fears of shadows and boogie men? Give her a small saucer of salt on her bedside stand and instruct her to take a pinch and toss it at the shadows that frighten her. Not only will this clear away unwanted entities, you have just taught your daughter that she has nothing to fear and that she is the one in control of her living space.

Having trouble winding down at the end of the day to get much needed sleep? Tie a bundle of lavender together and drop it into your bath water. Light a white candle and soak, grounding yourself, clearing your mind and relaxing your body. Finish up the day with a hot cup of chamomile tea just before turning out the lights.

The idea here is that the Green Witch incorporates herbs into her every day activities and chores and uses them with magickal intention.

I suggest Scott Cunningham’s book,“Cunningham’s Encyclopedia of Magickal Herbs”, for an extremely comprehensive list of herbs, their correspondences, and magickal uses.

This is Magick

Most people only know and expect from magick what they have seen on television and movies, or what they have read in fictional stories. They expect lots of special effects, both visually astounding and sometimes noisy. They expect instantaneous reactions from magickal incantations and would be satisfied with no less. To most people, if magick does not meet the above criteria, it is not magick.

They would be wrong.

Real magick works in its own way and in its own time…no special effects, no drum rolls, no flashes of light, and most of the time no melodrama. It works quietly, pervasively, discreetly, with sometimes surprising and unexpected results.

As an example…

There is a streetlight located in the neighbor’s backyard, far back in the southwest corner. I have hated this light with a passion for years. I like to go outside at night and bask in the moonlight or swim in the darkness of night, feeling the full effects of this magickal time. My children like to take their telescope out on a dark summer’s eve and visit the stars.

All of this is very hard to do when you are under the spotlight of an obnoxious mega watt lightbulb. We have cursed it many a time under our breath.

Last summer I decided to take matters into my own magickal hands and banish this light. The spell was cast, the curse of banishment spoken, the wand and finger pointed, the feet stamped, the candle set alight, the spell burned, the herbs spread, the Goddess invoked.

I felt within me a quiet sense of satisfaction.

The next night…

There was the light in all its inglorious obnoxiousness. I could almost hear it laughing in triumph, ‘Thought you’d get me, did you!’ And it continued to shine upon us and our entire yard for the rest of the summer, into autumn. I began to ponder the situation, wondering what I may have done wrong, or what I may have overlooked in the magickal texts.

Winter came and spring finally broke through and transformed the world.

I stepped out into the backyard one cool spring night, bracing for the bright light to hit my face…but it didn’t. Our yard was full of deep blue darkness and black shadows and puddles of silver moonlight.

Surprised, I turned in the direction of the streetlight to discover that over the winter the old tree in the neighbor’s yard had experienced a transformation. Its branches had grown incredibly during the winter months and were now lush and full of thick green foliage.

The old storm battered tree had, in fact, grown so much that it overshadowed and hid the streetlight.

This is magick.

Baubles n’ Spells n’ Magickal Things

I’ve been at it again, casting enchantments on some new wytchy bling and trying to pry certain pieces that I’ve fallen in love with out of my hot little hands so that I can actually part with them!

I absolutely love the azurite, and I’m afraid that I’m going to have to find a ring or pendent for myself, as the energy from this stone is wonderful– reminds me very much of lapis.  I broke down and procured a peridot for myself…I couldn’t resist, didn’t have any, and green is my favorite color.  Moonstone– I have several pieces of personal jewelry in moonstone, and I believe this is one of the most powerful stones for women.

Anyway…There are some new pieces up at Enchanted Jewelry, and with it are some new enchantments and some previous spells that have been requested.

Enjoy!

 Third Eye Spell

AzuriteRing1.jpg picture by witch_of_endore

Azurite is a beautiful, deep blue stone, long used in magic to increase psychic powers.  Wear this ring to bed at night to experience prophetic dreams, wear it when doing any divination work, or wear it simply to open that part of your sub-conscious mind that we so often ignore.  Azurite can also be used in scrying, using the stone itself, as well as in healing magicks.  Its energy is receptive (feminine), its planet Venus.  The element associated with azurite is water.

To this exquisitely handcrafted azurite ring, already instilled naturally with so much psychic potential, I’ve cast a Third Eye Spell to enhance and increase your psychic awareness, to stimulate and encourage clairvoyance, clairsentience, and clairaudience.  This magickal piece of enchanted jewelry is perfect to open the mystical third eye of the average person, or to enhance the abilities of psychic tarot readers, mediums, and clairvoyants.

 Spell of Prosperity

peridotring6.jpg picture by witch_of_endore

Peridot was used by the ancients as a protective amulet to guard against the evil eye.  It was worn or carried for general healing purposes, and was reputed to promote healing of insect bites and to help in liver ailments.  If worn to bed it also promotes sleep and calms the nervous system.  Ancient Romans wore peridot to relieve depression.

Peridot’s energy is receptive (feminine), its planet Venus, and its element Earth.

This beautiful green stone is also used to attract wealth and prosperity, and that’s the enchantment that I’ve cast upon this piece– that it may bring money and necessary funds to the wearer, that your purse never runs empty and your plate always be full.

moonstone earrings– .925 silver– post design, very dainty– 3/4"

Wedjat Eye Enchantment

MoonstoneEarrings4.jpg picture by witch_of_endore

These charming earrings are very dainty, the kind of earrings you can put in and wear comfortably without having to remove them for long periods of time.

To these earrings I’ve added a Wejat Eye Enchantment…The Wedjat Eye is the healed eye of the Egyptian god Horus, said in ancient mythologies to represent the powers of the moon.  It has long been used in spells as a protective charm, and this image was used in the spell cast upon these earrings to invoke the protective powers of Horus.  In this spell the power was raised to protect against evil from others, be that evil envy, wishing ill, or other ill feeling.

Moonstone is a blue, white, or pink feldspar and has long been connected to the moon, the Goddess,  and magick. Moonstone’s energy is receptive; it’s planet the Moon.  It corresponds to the element of Water, and particularly to the deities– Diana, Selene, Isis, and all lunar goddesses.

Surviving the Cursed Winter Wonderland

We made it through this last major winter storm, none the worse for wear, but a little frayed where the nerves are concerned– six kids, two adults, and seven cats– all hunkered down while the winds howl and the snow blows and the storm rages outside our humble cottage.

Gawds, I hate winter. I don’t know how/why I’ve managed to stay in the upper mid-west all of my 52 years…insanity or lack of ambition, it must be one of those. Personally, I’d vote for insanity, as lack of ambition would be embarrassing.  Anyway, the sun is shining once more, but the temperature has taken a nose dive, and we woke up this morning to well below zero temps– actual temps, not that crazy wind-chill ‘this-is-what-it-feels-like’ spiel.

In winter, I do believe that Mother Nature is out to kill us– or to weed out the weaklings, that only the strongest may survive. Egads. Survival of the fittest.
